Hello Blondie,

I was afraid to tell my husband as well. I made excuse after excuse why I couldn't drive, or go to public outings, ect for years before I finally told him just how hard it was for me. I did not keep it from him because I thought he wouldn't understand, I kept it from him because I thought I was going crazy lol.

He is SOOOO supportive of all of this now, but sometimes I think his support has made me worse in some sense. He knows driving is hard for me, so he always does it, he knows the grocery store is hard so he always takes me. I never wanted to put more stress on him than we already had. We have a business that is very stressful, and after economy went crazy, it suffered severely. Once I did tell him, I felt relief just to be able to say how it felt, but sometimes I wish he had kept making me push a little harder. He is the BEST support though when I am having an attack he sits with me, holds my hand and reminds me it will be gone soon, just stay calm, and breathe. He is always right, and it does go away!!

I say all the time that I have no idea how anyone can do this without support. I hope that by being here we can take some burden off our families by sharing with one another our success, and even our failures. It will make us stronger if we all stick together on this, and work this program together.

Thanks everyone for listening to me ramble :) :)

starting citralopram (generic lexapro)

I can totally relate to letting my meds expire. I have thrown out three prescriptions of Buspar, and have two more in the kitchen cabinet that have never even been opened. I get them down, sit them on the bar, and change my mind :( but if I can't get through it with this program alone, then I will try to add the medicine in as my backup plan.

Anyone ever taken Buspar?? My Dr keeps telling me that I will never know if I don't try them, and I always leave there saying "I will this time" and actually NEVER do!! In time with the help of this forum, maybe just maybe :) :)

Buspar Anyone???

Thank you Davit,

I need to try the meds, unfortunately that is one of my fears :( but I will get there!! I will hopefully have great results here, and then add in the meds if I still need them.

Again thank you so much, and no climbing tractors for me, so I should be good ;)

Agreed, I think if I could use the meds in conjunction with this program I could end this for good......Just have to get there, and I will :)

Talking To My Thoughts

Well, for a couple of days now I have been talking to my thoughts. Sometimes I even get quiet ugly with them, and it seems to be working :)

When I find myself thinking negative thoughts I just keep telling them "your not real" "your not true" and "you can't win" and it takes my mind off whatever I was thinking of negatively and almost makes me forget where I was in my negative thinking........I have not conquered any of my big goals yet, but I am learning how to retrain my brain to think more positively.........I will not give up on this program, I am hoping this is where I take my life back!!

Just thought I would share, so thanks for letting me share :) :)

Talking To My Thoughts

Thanks Ashley,

I know that daily I am slowly learning how to push those thoughts out......They are my dragon, and now I see just how powerful they were on my anxiety!! I really do treat them as if they are someone threatening me, and I am slowly learning how to push them out as if they were my worst enemy.......I still have some level of anxiety most all the time, but I see it becoming more managable as I work my way through this program!!!

Thanks So Much For All Your Support!!!!!!

Talking To My Thoughts

Hi Jennifer,

I had the same troubles, and still do at times. Everything for me is something major, but I am truly learning how to go against those thoughts, and usually I can win now......I have done this program exactly as it says, and nothing about it is easy, it is a struggle for me everyday......but I am learning and I am winning. My son called me last night with news he was moving to Florida, and I felt the BIGGEST anxiety attack every coming on.....Legs shaking......Felt like I was going to pass out......But I talked to my thoughts as if they were standing in front of me, and I won.....THE ATTACK NEVER CAME!!!

I was truly proud of that moment. I am having a tough morning today, but this to I will make it through because I have you guys.......Utilize these forums because WE ALL UNDERSTAND what your going through :) :)

Introduction

Hello Jennifer,

Welcome aboard :) I am new here as well. I have been working my way through the program now for a little over two weeks, and I am seeing improvements!! It's like each week I am learning more about anxiety than I have ever known, and I have been suffering for over ten years. This is a great place to share, and a great group of people to support you. Every day I seem to get a little stronger, not saying I am on top of the world, but I am seeing myself more able to control my thoughts, and that has proven to be a great help so far.

Good Luck, and this is a great place........Wish I had found this ten years ago!!!!
