Update , Still Going Strong ...

Yesterday made 12 Weeks , Going to reward myself and my wife at the 3 month mark . Why my wife you may wonder , She is part of my reason for wanting to quit . The choice had to be mine , but her support and the fact she does not and never has smoked gave me another big reason to add to the list of reasons why smoking is nothing but bad news .I also admit in the beginning there was days when it was like a war inside of me between two people i didn't know . One screaming light up , feel the relief , You are your own man , don't let anyone tell what you can or can't do .....and that is when the other voice would speak up and say your right you are your own man , You don't need the crutch of a cig to prop you up and in in the end break you down .Thankfully I was and still am stronger than this bad habit that robs us of life , from us and all our loved ones . 12 weeks free and I feel great , I don't think about smoking any more , I breath better , I know i must smell better and no more smoky smell in our home . Any way just wanted to say to all those at the beginning of your journey , You can do it and it's so very well worth all you will go through to reach your goal . ...... Gadgey044 / Billy H

Day 100

It's hard to believe but today makes 100 days smoke free , I am very happy to say I quit smoking . I can already feel the effects of being smoke free , Breath easier , no more morning cough not to mention I must smell better . Yes anyway you look at it quitting smoking is the smart choice . To those just starting out or struggling . hold on and don't give up . I cant really explain how wonderful it is to to kick a habit that does nothing but harm you and those around you . I wish i could share the feeling of release it gives you to overcome this crutch people use to prop up on . not only will it bring better feelings with your heath , it brings a deep feeling of pride in being in control of your own life . I did it and so can YOU .                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Gadget044 / Billy H

Day 135

Right after the love of my life , my wife . Quitting smoking is the best choice I have ever made . The cravings are down to just a passing thought , My breathing is a 100 % better , Now I no longer have to stop and catch my breath every few minutes . Our home and car smells so much better . My sense of taste has changed so much , I can really taste the food i eat now and I can smell things so much better and just in time for the wonderful spring flowers in my wife's  garden . I smoked right at 35 years , at times a 2 pack smoker but mostly a pack and forth of another pack a day . My friends out there who are thinking about quitting or have just begun your journey . You can do it , Don't give in or give up . I am not saying it will be easy , I am saying it will be worth it . Take back control of your life and enjoy it with friends and family , I wish everyone reading this a wonderful smoke free journey . Every day is a new day and a new lease on life ......

Day 212

Today makes 212 days since my quit date , I smoked anywhere  from a pack and half to two packs a day . So that comes out to be between 6.360 to 8,480 Cigarettes I have NOT smoked since given up this nasty habit . A savings of about 1,272 dollars  and that is saying a pack a day . So it would be closer to say 1, 500.00 dollars I have saved since my quit .The money is great , but better is my health . I breath so much better now and I started walking around my neighborhood about a mile every other day . Yes i have put on a couple pounds but no more than 5 or 6 . My house and car no longer smell like smoke . . I am looking forward to that year mark . 2/3 of the way there . Sometimes the urge still pops up , but its gone within 15 to 30 seconds . Life is so much better SMOKE FREE .
                                                                                                                                                                                                 Gadget044 / Billy H

I quit this morning

Raveness

Congrats on making the choice to quit . Myself I am on day 212 . I can tell you it is well worth it . The first 3 weeks was the hardest for me , after that it got easier and easier , till now i go weeks without even thinking about smoking . I can breath so much better and i know i smell better . I encourage you stick with it , You are stronger than a habit that does nothing but harm your body and cost you money  . What i did was find something to do every time I wanted a smoke . I know some people suck on candy . i chose peanuts , they are good for your health , don't cause weight gain and help you get past those cravens . I wish you the best and truly hope you make it to become smoke free , Believe in yourself , and think you have quit not that you are quitting , try to be positive . i am not preaching , just sharing things that helped me , in hopes they may help you also .
