I need some help about this program

I want to start the program after 04/15/11, the end of TAX season.  At this time I don't have the time to even think about it.  Now I am going to work on cutting the cigarettes down each day.  I thought after the April 15, I would start studying and preparing for the quit and set my date at that time.  Am I all screwed up on how this program works?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I signed up in April and this is my first time back and I am ready to quit.

I am on milestone 4, coping plan A, and I am stuck.  I have only recorded the last four days and that is not long enough to make a determination about my habit.

What do I do now?

CONFUSED, SCARED AND ALL MIXED UP

I have completed the fourth milestone.  This I have learned about my smoking:  the hardest times 1) on the phone 2) when I can't go to sleep or wake up during the night;  3) after a meal or snack, 4) stressed, mad or any emotion in this area.  I know these but have not been able to change or cope with them.

I have one cigarette left in the pack I am now smoking.  I going to buy one pack of a menthol brand (I hate menthol) and see if this helps.  I bought chantix but can't remember to take them regularly.

I have set my quit date for June 22, 2011.  I plan to give it a dry run on Sunday, June 19, and see where my weak points are and where I need to give more attention.   Is this a good idea or not???

It scares me to even think about not smoking.  I am aftraid of failing.  I am giving up my crutch, smoking a cigarette has helped me make it through many bad situations.

I am not sure if I am using the forum as I should.  Any suggestions, please help.

CONFUSED, SCARED AND ALL MIXED UP

Thanks Josie for your advice.  I will hold to the quit date and keep reading everything I can find about my addiction.  whyquit.com has help me understand many things about this problem of quitting but this I know
I WILL QUIT!  I WILL STAY POSITIVE AND THROW AWAY THE WORDS THAT HINDER ME,
No more afraid, confused, scared etc.  I CAN QUIT.

CONFUSED, SCARED AND ALL MIXED UP

Thanks Breater for you suggestions, I need all I can get.  I am trying to change my frame of thinking from negative to positive.  Yes, I can make it through bad situation w/o smoking (I just have to figure out how) because that is what I want and need to do.

Those menthol cigarettes are terrible  two puffs is all I can take at one time.

You just remined me to take the chantix.  I will try the flipping the bottle each time.  Tell me about H.A.L.T., is the time you are most likely to smoke?

Thank you for your time and advice.  I will apply it.

The tiniest of Baby Steps

I am just starting this program also.  I signed on in March (1 post) but only returned last week to give this my all.  I am determine to be positive and know I can do this if I give it my all.  What is your quit date?

Take the challenge!

That sounds like a great idea.  This is  like you are making a life style change with your quit.  I am going to work one up for myself.   Thanks for sharing.

Need some help

How can I change my public pledge and quit date?

I was suppose to have quit Sunday but it was Monday before I put them down.  I am struggling with some craving, especially at night, but feel I will make it.  I had to quit the Chantix due to side effects.  I think cold turkey will be best for me anyway.  I am hoping the harder it is to quit the lest likely I will be to start back.

I know I can do this.
