I was not part of your group, but I was one who learned from your group, you know that wonderful Rusty and how great she was with me. You are all my heroes. I am still quit and coming up to 6 years too.
I wil be 6 yrs smoke free on April 21st and I have never felt better. My hubby and I bought a 2001 corvette down in NC. Hubby is 65 this year and I will be 60 and I have not smoked all those cigarettes and saved 21000. by not smoking so thats my reward!!!!
I did it, 6 years today and loving every minute of my smoke free life. In case any new ones are wondering......no I dont want one or crave one, dont even think about them much anymore. Went and had a pedi and mani after work today.
All the best to all the new quitters, get your mind set and you can do it!!
Congratulations, I know how hard you work to get where you are and its nice to be recognized. Keep up the good work. I was a HOF winner too way back and I am still proud of myself for quitting. not an easy job, but oh so worth while.
7 years ago i found this site and decided to quit. With a whole lotta will power and a whole lotta help from everyone on here I am a non smoker. Thank you to everyone here for all your help you will always be special to me, I still dont think i could have done it without your support.
Life as a non smoker is wonderful. I found you have to really want to quit or it wont work. After you quit you will have gravings and urges, but you have to remember it is just a thought and you don't have to act on it. Think about it......every time you think you need to eat, or have a nap or want to strangle someone lol. You don't act on it and neither do you have to have a smoke, it's only a thought, don't dwell on it and don't act on it. Reward yourself, big or little it's something to look forward to. I went every Thur and had a cappuccino, my treat for quitting and I only had one that day, something to look forward to. Don't look for that money you save it just ain't there lol, but you are going to feel like you won the lottery now that you are not tied to smoking.
I recently had to go for a pre-op check up, (bunion surgery ouch!) the nurse said to me my lungs were good I must not be a smoker, that made me feel so good to know all traces are gone.
