Hi all. Planning on quitting tomorrow. Not going to use the patch or nicotine gum. What would help the cravings?? sunflower seeds, hard candy??

Today is my quit date. So, far I haven't had one. Feeling very spacey though. Chewing on sunflower seeds and straws. Just need some boost from you all.

ML, the cravings are still there after 126 days. Damn, wish that wasn't true. I am on day 1, and of course its bad, but 126. I have a long way to go.

I guess I am doing ok. I need to keep busy. Maybe I should I bought nicorette gum. Maybe would have been easier. But I need to do this without the nicotine, so no gum.
The hard part is commuting to work. I was like a hound dog this morning. I was picking out every car that had a smoker in it. Going to be tough and long, but know I can do this.

Good Luck!! I'm in my first day of quitting. A few withdrawal symptoms like spacey feeling, but I am doing ok so far. Keep with it.

Should I try the gum, Jim? Does it help. I'm not worried to much about withdrawal symptoms, its the cravings I worry about it.

Red twizzlers, I don't like liquorice. Great Idea thanks so much. Will pick them up after work. I can do this. I keep on telling myself that. Only problem is I will have to stay away from friends for a while. They do smoke, but I have to quit drinking to do this too. If I had a beer or a nice rum and coke with dinner it would be over. I am excited though. I will be on here alot.

It's 8pm and i really am doing fine. The toughest part is the commute to work and back. A little spaciness, but otherwise I am pretty ok. Of course, I've thought about the evil stick, but am doing ok. I am sure it has to get harder for me. So, far so good.
