no matter what..if you're a nonsmoker, you don't smoke

Aloha, I am so Sorry about the loss of your mom. Its great that you are so sure you are a non smoker, I admire this immensely you know exactly where you stand on this. Like JDJ I find it very though at the moment and unfortunately for me it will always be the case that I am an addict and I will always have to remember that I am an addict and what that addiction has done to me so I never light another cigarette, I have to keep this in my head all the time, I feel this is how it will be for me at least for the foreseeable future I think this is the only way I will succeed. i'm worn out with this

Elaine, I know what youre going through and you know there would be very few people on this site who would not have made at least a few attempts before they quit but they did quit, and you can too. Its not easy no one knows this better than I do. I have had, and still have days when I think I will go off my head and I have been depressed and worn out many times but I get through it. I take all the advice from the people here on the SSC These are people who have been there they know what its like if you come here and read the posts at least one person will identify with what you are going through at any given time and they will help you, The people here say it gets easier they are right it does I still have bad days some worst than others BUT it is getting easier as time passes. This is a quote I read I think it was here on the SSC I would rather be a quitter with an occasional urge to smoke, than a smoker with a constant need to quit. You might keep this in mind and it just might help. Hope your day gets better. Just Checking In

Hi Patrick, It looks like you have done a fair bit of travelling, I know Clontarf well I had my wedding in Clontarf Castle, I know Earls Fort also its near St. Stephens Green I would say you know your Dublin pretty well. Well how are you doing? I recall on one of the treads you said you had cut down on the Champix Im just wondering how are you managing has it effected you much do you find the cravings harder to deal with, Ill tell you why I cut down on the Champix also but I had a pretty bad weekend Im not to sure what caused it to be so bad I am not sure if it was because I cut back the tablets anyway On Saturday night I went to visit my mother a few people there where smoking I found this very hard I came home with a cough and sore eyes but also with a terrible urge to smoke I took a sleeping tablet and went to bed. That was bad enough Sunday was mothers day I was spending it with my son, we always watch the soccer together I go to his house for one match and comes to my house for the next one we have been doing this for years during the soccer season It was my turn on Sunday but Ill tell you all I could think about was a cigarette I was depressed and very annoyed because I was like a mad women and about to ruin a nice day with my son all over the cigarettes. I was just wondering is it possible that all the passive smoke affected me just the same as if I had actually smoked myself. I am back on Champix 2 a day Im too scared to take a chance on undoing all this hard work. Thank for listing N.O.P.E My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/2/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 61 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,830 Amount Saved: 667.95 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 10 Mins: 14 Seconds: 30
