Wellllll, since you asked, here's the skinny! I made it through till just before midnight and smoked my LAST butt!!! I had 2 left in the pack, gave one to my wife, I took the other and on the count of 3 we both crushed and destroyed those damn family killers!!!
I'm sure glad that I found this site last week after I had made my decision to quit!!! I got through all of the milestones just in time and started in on this forum to suck the support out of everyone here!!! :eg:
So, how about this morning you ask? It hasn't been too bad so far and I guess that I have to really thank the Chantix for that! Every other time that I tried to quit, the cravings hit me early and hit me strong!!! The craving I usually got seemed like my abdomen just starts to knot up or tighten! I have a little bit of that now and have most of the morning, but it is milder now than it has ever been!
I am coping pretty well, but I can't seem to think about anything else except that I have to fight the demon!!! It's really more of a mental thing for me right now, I think. It helps keeping busy to keep my mind off the quit, but between the jobs when I check the computer I start thinking about it all over again! Maybe getting on the computer is one of my triggers that I didn't think about!!??
Anyways, getting on here and looking at all of your support is what I really think will get me through this! I don't have too many people to talk to throughout the working day, so this outlet really helps!!!
I checked a few other threads this morning and read comments from a few, what I consider to be long-time non-smokers. Hard to believe that demon can re-appear after months!!! I guess I might be with y'all for some time to come!!! Well, all for now. Time for lunch!
Jim
