Heh. I'm big on straws, too, grandma. Those little coffee stirrer guys. I'm not sure if I'm smoking 'em or chewing 'em but they sure take a beating :)... Better them than our lungs, I guess. Well I guess I'm an April quitter because I messed up on my one year quit by just trying one for the heck of it. Wrong. Started up again for a couple weeeks but now back on track and know can't just have one. I am on the 14 mg. patch and itching to death but hanging in. Every place I put the patch gets a red itchey rash. Only a few more and I quit. In fact took a late shower and forgot to put one on today. I've beeen smoking my straws. Doing well here... almost a full 6 days without a cig. Wow, hard to believe! Cravings haven't been to bad thanks to the Chantix. Still using the self talk when I have thoughts about smoking. My boyfriend is almost 5 days without a cig. He is doing this cold turkey so I do believe it is a little harder on him, but he is doing well also. Sure is nice to be a non-smoker!!! I'm in guys. I am a very busy person and will try to check in as much as possible, I will probably need the assistance, I have attempted this before, succeeded for 6 months, and another for 30 days I believe. I screw up for idiotic reasons and beat myself up over it. Mine are not slips, mine are complete relapses. I cannot take a drag off another cig, because I go full fledged smoker over night. Lets do this! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 58 Amount Saved: $7 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 4 Mins: 48 Seconds: 11

Jean49, I know you must feel a little dissapointed but you did what you had to to keep your quit and that's what counts! Generally, we do recommend you follow the full course of treatment as recommended by your physician. Keep persevering! Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Just posted about 'Stepping down.. bad idea' ! It was ok for the 1st couple of days but then it hit me bad and I decided to go back up to the 21 mg patch. Oh well.. Just wanted the nicotine out of my system and I can't go cold turkey. Other than that it was a good weekend :) Sure hope you all had a good one too ! Welcome Banana & Unpacked! Yes, Banana, you'll notice that your nose is a little more sensitive these days. It may be overwhelming at first but you'll regain that balance. Jean, Way to kick those craves to the curb! Keep it up! Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team
