Good morning from sunny cornwall, england. It's 06:30hrs and i needed to check the website before i went to work and i'm so glad that i did cos i've been having a bit of a tough time, negative self talk again and it's given me a real boost reading all my may quitters positive talk. 2 more days at work this shift pattern, i really need to figure out different ways to avoid the smokers.....They're everywhere!!!! But am feeling strong and don't want to let you all down.

On day 20 here I think & doing great! Once I got over the fear of quitting and quit, I then started dealing with the mental cravings and some mild physical cravings (I'm on the patch). Right now I feel very strong as far as the mental aspect of my quit goes and I am just plain pissed off that nicotine ever had such a hold on me. One thing I have realized is that my quit thus far has been a lot easier than what society told me it was going to be. I could kick myself for believing all the hype about how hard it is to quit ... because I let myself believe that & believing that does not work toward a smoker's benefit. Being so scared of all the withdrawals, the change and of failing was one of the big reasons I didn't quit sooner than later. I no longer believe it is hard to quit, which was more than 1/2 the battle in my opinion. What is hard is taking the first step, getting past the fear; what is hard is changing your way of thinking from 'Man this is hard' to 'Man this is easy'. Once you believe and I mean truly believe the truth and not the lie ... you are on your way to PERMANENT change! I also realized that I out grew my crutch a long time ago ... why I kept on smoking was purely out of habit. It is disgusting what fear of change or failure will keep you from accomplishing. Not anymore! My goal for the next two weeks is to get this crap (nicotine) totally out of my body ... FOR GOOD & FOREVER!!!! Feel the fear and do it anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!! Breaking Free, You are such an inspiration! If you haven't read Carr's book you would be amazed because it is as if you WROTE it! :) I am doing well. Put on some weight despite my healthy eating and exercise. I think it is true that Nicodemon burns calories but he only does so because it is harder for my body to get nutrition and that is just sad. I am so happy to have my May Company friends and all of us are going strong and keeping our quits. I have been feeling great. I don't cough anymore when I wake up in the morning and I can sing loud and clear. Life is good my friends. :) How are other May Company folks doing ?
