Good evening from England my fellow May quitters
I have just had the best three days of my quit so far.
Have had a few rough days and one blip of a puff, but overall I feel great.
My other half stinks to high hell and he is now relegated to smoking outside and well away from me.
One more day to go and I hit the 30 mark - preparing myself for a rough ride as I heard it can be hard to hit 30 days
It sore does feel good though to be in another month and smoke free
WELL DONE TO ALL OF US - 3 CHEERS AND BIG (((((((((HUGS))))))) TO US ALL

I'm here Lilly
Glad you've had a good day in sunny Cornwall, it's been hot up here in Sheffield too.
I'm still feeling good apart from the fact that everyone and everything irritates me - but never mind if that is the only price I have to pay for quitting then so be it

Hello to all my fellow May quitters!!!!!!!!
I have to say that today I feel AWESOME> the energy
level is finally on the upswing and 've been on the
go keeping myself busy. Man - it is so cool not having to
worry about smoking, I never really gave it much thought before
but you really spend a lot of time thinking about it - things like,
Where are my smokes? Can I smoke here? When can I go for my next
smoke? Do any people in this group smoke?
It was just endless - not to mention the scramble for extra cash
to buy them.
IT IS SO GOOD TO BE FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
And I have a month under my belt (plus a few extra pounds) LOL>
but you know what? I'm even proud of those - I've earned them.
Great big hugs and cheers to all of you!
We made it through our month -
Can't wait to meet you all at the beach!
Cheers,
Skidoo

It's said that picturing your audience naked is one of the best ways to conquer stage fright.
I think we could come up with an equally silly way to view smokers. Part of what works for me to keep strong when I'm out and about is to picture any and all smokers I see in very silly and shameful ways. Imagine the cigarette being the mouthpiece on the end of a hose attached to a skull and crossbones bottle or a coal engine. Imagine the smoke not like scrubbing bubbles, but more like those animated toenail fungus monsters on TV. Hehe!
There was one English gentleman who was on here a lot about a year ago and he made a comment in very British English of seeing all these people out and about with a "fag in gob." It was so riotously funny that it sparked several threads, including one that was deleted for not being quitty enough! Lol!
I thought of that when I saw smokers then, when I smoked again and now that I'm quit again I still see smokers as silly, yet sadly addicted and unhealthy people.
the gist of this is to suggest that seeing smoking and smokers as silly and shameful is one good way to get yourself to NOT want to smoke.
May the Quit be with us.

Last summer, about 2 months into my quit, there was a big flurry of interest in Alan Carr's book. I finally decided to see what all the commotion was about, so one evening at the bookstore I perused it over a cup of coffee. I was quite surprised. It could have been Shevie's Easy Way to Quit Smoking.
Obviously, Alan Carr's method works, too. :)

Hi, fellow May Co. quitters.
Me? I'm doing great! :)
Hang in there everyone. Just like driving down a road, when you hit a rough patch you just keep going and the road eventually smooths out again.
Keep up the good quits everyone. :)
