How´s it going?

Yesterday I had a bad reaction to a medication I tried, to replace one that was making me sore and very tired.
Same reaction only with hallucinations added on. Needless to say it ruined my day and I got little done on top of entertaining visitors. I fed them apple pie and wine and don't think they noticed I was not myself. They probably thought I was drinking the wine too. I was drinking Ginger Mint tea. Same colour as the wine :-)

I'm much better today but still slept part of it. So that med is off the list too.

Today was another fine day with the sun shining. It isn't supposed to snow or rain either. Not for the next week either.
Good weather for my friend to visit.

Minocin, a form of tetracycline is used in very small doses to make the protein that Micoplasma live on unavailable with out killing off enough good cells to do damage. It is usually used in combination with prednisone to prevent inflammation from white cells. The very simple test is to take a normal amount of antibiotic for a day and see if you get pain and inflammation. If it is bacteria you will get a massive die off and your white cells will cause a lot of inflammation by encapsulating the toxins. Unfortunately this is often mistaken for an allergic reaction.
Dr Thomas MacFerson Brown successfully treated Arthritis with antibiotics and when he died of Cancer his work was picked up by Dr Scammel and others. Minocycline can be taken for life with out Micoplasma building a resistance to it because they have no cell wall and because of this fact and their size they can not be stained and do not show under a normal microscope. Over ten years ago I was on my way to being in a wheel chair when I switched to antibiotics from immune suppressants. I wish I had of done it sooner. Lyme disease is a related infection too, often mistaken for Arthritis.
It is an interesting fact that juveniles with both Arthritis and pimples given Tetracycline lose both their Arthritis and their pimples. Staph Aureous  a common skin bacteria also does joint damage when it gets into them.

But this is just my observance over 25 years. Immune suppressants are still the drug of choice which is why arthritics die from infection or pneumonia.

The biggest problem with Arthritis is the fatigue which causes depression as does any major disease and this is more problem than the pain any day. Not being able to do what I want to every day is hard to accept. This is why I have found some one else on a disability pension and we will share a house and chores. It will cut the load considerable and make bad days more acceptable. It won't be perfect but it will be better than the struggle I have now. It may not even work but is worth the try.

Ps It amazes me that you can do all you do and not have more depression. Caring for someone else is hard both physically and mentally.

Hi Davit, It was tetracycline...

Was the antibiotic one of the tetracyclins. Your Arthritis could be antibiotic resistant micoplasma, not Arthritis. Same symptoms except damaged knuckle joints in the thumbs and little finger are common in this rather than the swanning from RA. Swanning affects all the fingers. and knuckles get larger rather than deteriorate. Micoplasma attack the joints and live off the protein needed for cells to replicate. They are very hard to find and therefore look like auto immune. They grow slow and after three years are hard to kill off. Few Doctors know the right protocol. Often they are diagnosed with tetracyclin allergy. If it is infection the brace will do nothing as the joint will continue to deteriorate. One sign is that there is no pain.

Davit, I took a lot of antibio's for acne for a good decade. I never made the cover of a magazine. I was frustrated for days, as I recovered from something, and preparing to confront my doc, since a test confirmed that my hands might need surgery for carpal tunnel. The frustrating part, until I read an article, was that my thumb is becoming badly distorted, too, and the specialist made an error in his letter to my family doc. Now I might have to see another doc to convince my doc that I need a second brace to hold my thumb in place, so it doesn't get worse. The article suggested though, that bracing is only a patch. I'm not sure my doc would appreciate my bringing an article for him to read!

I take a lot of antibiotics so I get candida in my lungs and blood stream. It is annoying because it tires me out. It also gives me a horrible craving for sweets.

I got all that I wanted done today except making soup. I had company and I always put them to work helping me. Then we talk. Usually over a glass of wine or a piece of pie. So it can cut into what was planned. But hey it is worth it because I can't do things like changing light bulbs or packing heavy stuff down stairs.

I just put the bread in the oven. I think I will make a microwave brownie. If I make a pan full I'll eat them all.
The power was off for four hours early in the morning. I was just going to use my camp stove when it came back on. It is funny how we get conditioned to power. I lived for years without it.

It was + 5C today so I got a little done outside. So many little chores to do. Like charging the batteries on the tractor. I don't use it enough to keep them charged. Some of these things are easier to do in summer.
So I would say it was a good day again.

Today wasn't a bad day but it wasn't as good as most either. Something has triggered some unwanted thoughts and I'd like to figure out what it is before I do something about it. It is pretty minor but still annoying. It will pass.

Other than that it was a good day as the sun was out a bit and it was warm. I did get some things done that I wanted to.
Not as much as I'd like but that is okay.

I have a head ache and a plugged ear and a sore neck so doing anything is hard. So I'm not doing anything else now but watching a movie with some heat on my neck.

According to my kidney and liver function tests both are fine and I have taken large doses of Acetaminophen for pain.
You would have to exceed the four gram limit for a while before doing damage. In fact my doctor says you can take two 500mg extra strength every four hour instead of six hours as long as you don't exceed the daily limit. I've done this.
But that assumes a person has no problem with either their liver or kidneys. Acetaminophen has no anti inflammatory property, but it also will not eat holes in your stomach. Take with a full glass of water or tea.
When possible put Turmeric in your food, it is an anti inflammatory. It adds colour to soup also and is hidden in meat sauces.

I like Nana and have some of her music. And she is probably right.

It is a shame you don't live here, We could go out for hot chocolate. You could meet some of my weird friends.
Getting out is good, I don't do it enough.

Hi Davit, It sounds like you had a good day. It's nice to talk about what a "day" is like, since I don't get to talk to anybody, except medical people from mom. I had a rough time following the first class of a course. I want to drop the course, with only 4 classes left, since I wasn't myself. I can't figure out if I had food poisoning, but maybe it's just the stress. It's generous that I can quit and get all the money back. I guess I felt overwhelmed, since I can't focus on many things. Despite the Federal Drug Administration warning about acetomenophine, I'm going to need take one tonight, since I've not slept and arthritis is awful. That famous greek singer(Nana Mouskouri) stated that in Greece, they don't need psychiatrists, just friends.

Today was a good day. Stayed up too late last night and got tired which showed up as vertigo. Yuk.

I went for hot chocolate with a friend I met in the library and spent half an hour explaining CBT Techniques. She said she would make an appointment with my Therapist and I hope she does.
I met people there that I haven't seen in years. I look different with hair on my shoulders now and no glasses.
I met a lady in the Library I hadn't seen in a long time too. I got her started on antibiotics for her Arthritis many years ago and like me she has gone into remission. And like me she said I wish I had of known before all the damage.

Talked to a friend on the phone for a while too. Did laundry and dishes and shovelled a bit of snow. So I'm tired now.

Cookies, DVD and tea then off to bed early.

I hope everyone is having a good day.  Not even a twinge of anxiety in mine.

Davit
