rhonnie, I'm currently taking 100mgs of zoloft and have been on it since last July. I didn't start the klonopin until October, I took .25 mgs at night before bed. I did that for a few months and then I started breaking them in half and about 6 weeks ago I decided I was far enough along in my therapy to quit them altogether and I didn't have any withdrawals. I know there is alot of controversy surrounding klonopin, but there are definately times when they are necessary.

Hi Pam I read on another post that you were on medication I know klonopin was one were you on anything else if you don't mind me asking? I'm also on klonopin I take .25 mg every morning and I'm also on celexa and have been for just over 3 weeks. When did you feel comfortable enough to stop taking the Klonopin and did you have any withdrawals from any meds? Please let me know Thanks, Rhondda

rhonnie, I'm happy to hear that things are getting better for you. Talking to others in your support group will really help you to feel better, it's so comforting to be with others who understand what you are experiencing. Definately keep us posted on how things go. Trish, I'm in Maryland which is quite a long way from kentucky , but if the tapes really helped you the last time and you're not able to purchase them, let me know if you would like for me to send them to you. Send me an email at gph1987@comcast.net They are working so well for me I wish I could give copies to everyone, I know what it feels like to be so scared and overwhelmed , and to feel like you are losing your mind. It breaks my heart to see others have to suffer with this horrible disorder. I've tried quite a few different things and this one seems to be the one that is really making a difference.

Hi Pam and Trish the meeting at the hospital went well it was nice to see others who suffer with this face to face. The therapy is cognitive behavioural therapy which like you said Pam, changes the way you think. Also, my meds have kicked in after being on them for 3 weeks so I'm definatley improving!! Since October I have been waking up early in the morning with bad full blown attacks now when I wake up, I still have uncomfortable anxiety but I feel so much better!! Thanks for all your support this site has been a tremendous help and I'll keep you posted Wishing everyone all the best!!!

good luck rhonnie! Try not to worry this is the beginning of the end of panic for you. You have taken the first step by seeking help. Definetly keep us posted on your progress. Trish, I paid about $430.00 for the program by the midwest center for stress and panic. It has a 30 day money back guarantee and I had every intention when I ordered it to go over the information really quickly and mail it back, but it is so helpful to me I'm going to keep it and pay the money. I figured I was paying a psychologist $129.00 per hour for this problem and really not getting anywhere, so in the long run I'll be saving money. Where are you located? If your near me I would be more then happy to share the tapes with you.

Pamela, I had the opportunity to have the tapes, err someone in our support group, bless their heart, duped some copies for us, I know against the law to do that, but helping each other was the goal. And I got tremendous results with them. Back then the tapes werent as expensive as they are now, guess the popularity has driven the cost up. As I lost my old ones. But if any of you have the sources that wont break the bank, I can attest with Pamela, these are GOOD!!! Trish

rhonnie I have not tried group therapy ,only one on one counseling with a psychiatrist and a psychologist. But I would like to try group therapy sometime, even though my panic is mostly in remission in order for it to stay gone I have to always remind myself not to think negatively and I can use all the therapy I can get! Another website that might be helpful to you is www.stresscenter.com I'm currently using the program offered there and it is GREAT!!! It is a little bit expensive to buy, but there is alot of helpful info on the website.

Hi Rhonnie, I was in a support group, which is therapy. We didnt have a doctor per se leading it, but several people in remission of panic to guide us, and it was awesome! We did have a specialist hold a lecture for us and our families, I urge you to definitely give it a try, believe me the first day, actually SEEING people face to face, so NORMAL, yet like us, makes you feel better, and motivates you more to do so. Trish
