Welcome rhonnie, Sorry it took me so long to respond. In case you don't know, I'm the new Support Specialist on the block.(I.m a little slow.) You have come to the right place! Please feel free to roam the site at your own pace. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. If you have any question or concerns with our €œTOOLS€, you can contact Susanne or me at support@paniccenter.net. We are the Support Specialists for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have. Also, talk around and read our posts, the supporters on-line are absolutely wonderful. Keep us posted, your in the right place, Josie

Hi Pamela thanks for the welcome and the great advice!! Of course I only think negatively during anxiety or a panic attack! That makes so much sense I'll give it a try. Have you ever tried group therapy?

Hi rhonnie and welcome to our group. I just wanted to let you know that just about everyone who is on meds for anxiety still suffers from it. The medication helps but the only way to totally stop the anxiety and panic is to change the way you think. I think joining the group therapy is a great idea. When you are having a really bad time of it, try imagining what you would say to one of your children if they came to you and complained of feeling and thinking about the things you feel and think about. Whatever comforting words you would relay to them is what you need to tell yourself to help you thru the fear. For instance if you are convinced there is something wrong with your heart and you think you are going to have a heart attack and that is what triggers your panic. Imagine that one of your children came to you in the middle of the night and said mommy I had a bad dream and my heart is beating really fast and I'm scared that I'm going to die. You would tell him/her that they are just frightened and that is the way their heart reponds to the fear and the adrenaline pumping thru their bodies. Be your own comforter and remind yourself that all of your thoughts aren't real they are what is causing the panic and anxiety and the physical sensations. You have to make yourself your own safe person.

Hi Nurseboy sorry you feel depressed today but you do have a reason.. the Panic!! I also have those racing thoughts you talk about as well as the stinkin' physical ones. I have i guess you'd say mild agoraphobia I'll leave the house but only if I'm with someone. I won't be left alone either. I'm a stay at home Mom with 2 kids and even though I'm busy with them, my mind always has the time to get out of control it sucks doesn't it. I hope your day gets better for you!!!

I went to sesame street live tonite with my wife and kid and probably 98% of the time my head was just working. i feel real depressed today and i don't have a reason. life is excellent except for the panic! i feel crazy in the head alot. i over analyze every thought and am aware of every thought i have and emotion and mood. like my senses are hyper acute. i have three 12 hour shifts to look forward too the next 3 days. therapy helps when i am in the room talking and usually the rest of the day....but then the day after...it all comes back. been reading 'brain lock' for my ocd and sometimes it helps. i am not agoraphobic. i go everywhere and let my craziness follow me everywhere. i am truly fed up today. i feel like i don't know who i am anymore and i have such a bad memory that i can never remember if i had these feelings last year or the year before....

Hi Nurseboy thanks for replying. I have that going crazy thing too as well as a bunch of mumbo jumbo that goes on in my head it doesn't even make sense!! I have horrible morning and evening anxiety chills, trouble breathing, nausea, heartburn, burping, shaking, spacey to name a few. I sometimes get it in the afternoon as well. Oh yeah dizzy sometimes too.My husband was great at the beginning but now if I tell him symptoms he gets mad and tells me to get over it How stupid! I obviously would if I could! So now I come here for support. I go to the hospital tom. for an interview for group therapy soo nervous have you done this before? Please write back it sounds like we have a lot in common!!

I am having a bad 2 days with my anxiety also. i snapped at my wife and i think she will be staying at her mother's tonight. i didn't mean too but i have all this gad and panic built up i came home from work and exploded. we were supposed to drive to a town for dinner with a bunch of people and she insisted that i our 2 year old is sick and i worked so hard to get out of woek (one hour late) and she didn't even call me to tell me she didn't want to eat and i was so excited to go out and show my gad what i thought of it. anyway, my general anxiety is fears of going crazy and general uneasy feeling like i feel "wild" in my head. sounds crazy to explain and it IS crazy. explai your symptoms and i can elaborate on mine!

Please help!! This disorder sucks so bad! I know there are good days and bad days but do any of you still have anxiety even on medication? I've been diagnosed with panic disorder, gad and depression(caused by the anxiety) It seems if I have a good day, the next one is a bad one. Does anyone else experience this? I had anxiety and panic 6 yrs ago and got through it without meds but this time is sooo different please respond. Any symptoms anyone has with gad would be appreciated too!!(As you all know people with anxiety insist something else is wrong with them)
