Congrats Tabbycat!

It sounds like you are doing great!  Why do you think you were not tempted to smoke?

Wow! Being around smokers and not craving one is the biggest test you can have in the early days so well done for that. Its inspiring to hear that at day 12 youre already hardly thinking about smoking. Maybe this doesnt have to be as hard for me as l keep thinking quitting for good will be. Keep it up!

Hi Tabbycat,
Welcome to the site. Congratulations on starting over on your quit journey. It's good to hear that you still want to quit even after you tried and failed before. Stay on that path to your freedom from this nasty habit. "Last night I went to the casino and noticed how much everyone stunk from the smoking." That is the truth isn't it?  Funny how we didn't notice that when we were smokers.
Stay strong and keep us posted on your progress.

My husband and I both quit together over 3 years ago, 2 months in and I started back up, he has not.  Some of his family have also quit in the last year or so.  I decided it was time to finally quit because I have health problems and smoking is only making these problems worse.  I quit 12 days ago, I did have a minor set back about 9 days ago and had a few puffs off my sisters cigarette.  I have not touched one since.  Finally today, I did not think about a cigarette constantly.  I think I may have thought about it maybe just two times today.  Last night I went to the casino and noticed how much everyone stunk from the smoking.  Shockingly, it did not temp me to want one.  I really hope this is the last attempt. I had a CT cardiac calcium scan last week from years of uncontrolled cholesterol and had to be put on cholesterol meds, I know smoking is only making my HDL worse.  I'm only 41 years old.
