hi, I hear what you are all saying, but surely better to go outside for a ciggie than sit at the table and smoke around everyone else. I still berlieve in freedom of choice and that was their choice lynne My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/24/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 51 Amount Saved: 12 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 9 Mins: 12 Seconds: 23

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

The other night my management team had a managers night out with some money that we had won from an incentive. There are two smokers left on my team (i say this because there used to be 5, 1 has left the business and myself and another have quit). About halfway through dinner two of them got up to go outside for a smoke. I smiled said ha, i hadn't even thought about it until now. One of them said i'm sorry. I said you know what its ok, it doesn't bother me you're going outside, right now it makes me smile that I don't have to! right, thats exactly what it was Marie, a moment of freedom. It didn't bother me that they got up and left to go outside for a smoke (in Ontario all restaurants, bars etc are non smoking) it just made me smile that i didn't have to! Hi Sillyme, I think it's great to enjoy these moments! It's moments like these when you realise how far you've come in your quit! I bet you must have felt so proud, not having to go outside to smoke. And, even more so when it was not even a craving that made you think about smoking. You're right, this is a great feeling, Sillyme. Thanks for sharing your story with us! Makes me feel proud, too! In all my years of smoking(50) I never left the meal table to smoke That is the most disgusting display of bad manners. If they were on a 4 hour flight would they have'gone outside' I THINK NOT Phil My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/9/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 79 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,588 Amount Saved: 414.75 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 9 Mins: 4 Seconds: 30
