Mercy(Mom)- I downloaded a "testimony" of a special woman tonight at a retreat. What a moving testimony it was and is. I want to tell you how proud I am of you and how things fall into place in His time. You always felt a responsibility to your children and look,mom, we found Christ because you sought Him out...You decided enough was enough with the smoking and you quit, all on your own...silently... The times you speak of now where at our small family get togethers, everyone would leave you to go outside and smoke(how sefish we are). Now, look...because of your silent and peaceful example, I have followed you and have quit smoking, J is taking the Chantix and will be joining us soon, and lets face it, Pat will be joining us VERY soon.(If not for feeling left out, but for his grand adventures in climbing...lol). OH Guys!!...Thank you so much. I love you all. Mr. Ed....... I love that picture. Look how the goat loves you. Bear....didn't you know that bears and goats bond for life. I think I'm on the E celebrity channel tonight. LOL Seriously..... I'm still on the journey day by day. There is times I walk past the smokers outside and am disgusted by the smell....and other times it smells good and familiar. I'm convinced that when I was a smoker and thought about quiting daily the same senerio plays out now as a non smoker staying quit. Outside of amnesia it may be that each day will always remain a "choice". The important thing is acknowleging it's a choice well made. I think we need to take time to seriously reflect at the subtle changes that have taken place in our lives......both emotionally and physically. They happen in such small increments we fail to see them. Yet...They are so important. If I take the time to reflect, I see the freedom I have. I see a respect for my body and appreciate how miraculous it really is. I eat different now. I choose better food and eat a large portion of my food organic. I sleep better and am more regimented in caring for myself. I have made diliberate efforts to slow down and smell the roses. "Have to's" isn't as important as "it would be nice if's" are. I'm less judgemental and react to others in a softer way. Reflect and you'll see the befores and afters. I'm not sure if I'm making sense so I'll just say...thanks again.
