I thank each of you for the strength that I get from you, your wisdom, your courage and your caring help me through the rough spots. I'm always in a "hurry" for things to happen I think i'm just trying to hurry to that peaceful place where you rarely think of smoking.

Hi Lisa, i hated days like this, they do come and go ( FAST) but each one you get through is just one more victory over the nico deamon, as you get farther into the quit, they get farther and farther apart, i use to hate when all of a sudden i would get whacked in the side of the head with this crap, you are doing well, just stay with it. I can tell from your posts to others that you have what it takes to get through these craves.  Hang in there...this will pass!  Just remember the craves you had in the beginning...you know those passed...just remember all that you have learned and all that you have done to get where you are.  Good for you for tearing up that cigarette.  I'm sure it wasn't easy!

Dear Lisa,

Thank you so much for your post. My junkie has been telling me that it is impossible that just 1 puff will send me all the way back to the beginning and make it like I never quit, have to go through hell week etc. I tell myself it does not matter cause I am not going to find out, and of course the no one will know thing is going on.

Thank you too Bonnie for your answer. It has helped me a lot , again! I am not going to try it and my quit is strong, just more stuff to sort out and toss in the garbage.

It is so neat that we can learn from one another and not have to find out everything for ourselves.

Thank so much

Pupikat

Hi Lisa..     I went thru the same thing.. I kept getting these weird  thoughts.. and the well....just ones...

I came here ( and another site) and each time I saw a post of someone who had just lost their quit.. With "JUST ONE"  and how awful they felt..  I thoght  OMG  that could be me  writing this very post..

then I read a post  .... don't let your brain... AsK the Question  that question is taboo..  you would not look at a bottle of bleach and think of drinking it, you would not look at rat poison and think Yummy... you would not pick up dog poo and put it in your mouth...

SO I told myself.. That is No longer a Question allowed to be asked ... that is taboo..

the craves have pretty much gone away.   I walked through some "unseen" smoke.. and I almost gagged... and then I realized..  OMG   that was cigarette smoke..   and OMG   I smelled   just like that lady who is very class and well dressed....

OMG  that could be and used to be ...............ME

do not go there.. it is not allowed.

  Bonnie

Lisa,

First off, congratulations on remaining smoke-free for 5 months! What a success!

Also, well done on fighting through those urges in front of your house today. By concentrating on the smaller achievements such as this, you will have the confidence to fight off even stronger cravings.

You seem very determined and this is admirable. Keep up the fantastic work!
