Making it through the weekend

18 years ago 0 334 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hello everyone! And how is your weekend going? I hope the weather is beautiful where you are! I cant remember the last Saturday night that I didnt have a cigarette! Or a glass of red wine (just kind of goes together)! I feel SO GOOD today - so proud of myself. It was a beautiful day here today and we took the kids to the zoo and then spent the afternoon in the back yard bbq'ing. This is usually a huge smoking time for me, because I do the cooking and I only smoked outside - but you know what? I did it!!!!! I made it through. And another thing - there was a TON of smokers at the zoo today (I noticed them all) and I didnt once feel envious - I just felt happy that I wasnt one of them. I know its early days and the cravings will still come and I have to be on gaurd, but today was a really really good day. Its great to be able to share a high with all of you. Cheers Skidoo N.O.P.E. Thanks for all the replies and encouragement everyone!!!!! So I went from a great day to a hard Sunday night. I think my children took monster pills laced with caffine - up too late and miserable to boot. I wanted to smoke soooooooo bad - but I didnt! YEAH for me. I think I brushed my teeth a gazillion times yesterday - I find that really helps - and of course tons of water. Have a good one Cheers, Skidoo My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 94 Amount Saved: $36.75 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 16 Mins: 35 Seconds: 18

Hey Penquin - Are you from the PEG?????? What are the chances of meeting someone here from your own town? That would be too cool! Hello Penquin!! St. James for me. Did you catch any of that thunderstorm this afternoon? That was pretty wild - we got lots of hail here. Enough about the peg, How is your day going??? FIRST DAY IS ALMOST OVER! I know how hard the second - third - fourth quit can be. I've quit quite a few times myself - but this is it for me! And it will be for you too. Hang in there - there are so many great people on this site to help us through. It can be done. Cheers, Skidoo :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 8 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 106 Amount Saved: $42 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 18 Mins: 38 Seconds: 57

Dear Ski Your attitude is soooo awesome for your first smoke free weekend! Way to go! It was a great plan to be outdoors and enjoy your first weekend with the family. Its beautiful where I am this weekend too and yesterday I was hanging at the pool and I was the only nonsmoker out of 5 people! I loved it! I was not envious at all...but it took me a few weeks to get to that point. I was sitting there like I had a great big secret. I was thinking ITS SOOOOO AWESOME I am no longer trapped! Life is soooo much better without the nicodemon! We are proud of you! Stay Strong Ski My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/30/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 97 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,462 Amount Saved: $291 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 15 Mins: 15 Seconds: 11

Hi, Skidoo. Glad to hear your weekend is going well. :) Our zoo doesn't allow smoking, but it's too big for them to enforce that policy. So I used to be able to sneak many smokes as we roamed around. It's so nice now to be able to roam around there at our leisure without feeling like a criminal every half hour. But I do get the urge to "call the cops" when I catch someone smoking now. :eg: Congratulations on 5 awesome, smoke-free days, Skidoo. Keep up the good quit.
