Feelings

Hey Cherie, Don't let our we pleasantry's fool ya. :) Even though Sue and I very rarely get in arguments, we did get in a few heated ones during our quit when we got off the Chantix. What helped is when I felt stressed and irritated I would tell her up front so she can be on guard for my Italian temper. Nobody is perfect, the important thing is to realize what and who is important to you and to never be angry with your spouse or better half at the same time. Which can be especially difficult for couples quitting together. I can tell my your determination that you are going to make it. ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 102 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,550 Amount Saved: $357.00 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 17 Mins: 51 Seconds: 27

John & Sue's picture & words gives me hope that there really are good relationships out there :) They both seem so happy and happy to help others quit smoking. It's so cool to see 2 people together, commited & happy :) I'm so glad Mercy is here b/c she's has a sweethearther & words give me comfort and it's so nice when there's someone else who understands what it's like to have fibromyalgia. When I look at unhooked's picture & read her words, I see a very laid back, positive, non-judgmental person who appears pretty happy :) I don't know how to explain it but everytime I look at her picture I get a sense of relief. Hey penquin, Thanks for your insight :) Wow you're doing gr8 working on yourself! I think this is your final quit, finally :) And I will spend tonight and tomorrow trying to remember to breathe & just feel that moment. The idea of not hurting anymore sounds so good! My life seems to always have had some kind of hurt going on. Hmmmmmmmm......... But I guess I could change that if I wanted to, sighhhhh, hard work :) Thanks :) Just breathe.........ahhhhhh My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/9/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 30 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 600 Amount Saved: $144.00 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 22 Mins: 14 Seconds: 54

What I see, when I look at your picture is Sadness. I also see someone who would be the first person to fulfill someone else's needs, but forgets about herself often. I know this because I see you in me. Even though this quit is still very young, I have learned a lot about myself since I joined this site, and my various attempts to quit. I, too analyze everything to death - not so much anymore though, because I am learning to watch just what I am thinking and saying to myself. I am learning to control my thoughts, especially the painful ones and the fabrications that my mind makes that bring about the painful emotions. Still need lots of practice though, but I am willing to wait and be patient, because already I have made lots of progress. I too have chose to smoke and relapse in the past, during angry times, during disagreements with my hubby. I too have chosen to hurt myself through relapse, thinking it hurt less, when I was doing the hurting. I was so wrong. It didn't hurt less. It hurt more, but it was a hurt that I was comfortable with. Don't know if that makes sense. Maybe even sounds a little sick, but like I said...I am learning. What have I learned....that I don't have to hurt. PERIOD. I'm getting out of the hurting game and getting on with the LIVING game. Stay out of your mind for a while. Turn it off when you can...and....like you say just breathe and live in the moment of that breath. Thanks for being there for me these past couple of days Sue, it's meant a lot to me and you have helped me:) I don't think that some people realize how much they're helping another person. I mean we say what we can but we never know if it actually helps or not. So many people in here have helped me more than they know. Whether we make it this quit or not, we've grown from trying and I think have a better chance the next time. Where as if we don't keep trying we will fail. Today's been tough but I'm sticking in there. Just breathe......... Ok, I just got off the phone with Ms. Lady and she pointed out how I'm just analyzing everything, lol. And it's true, I am. Because I'm trying to stop from hearing the junkie in me today that's been screaming at me so loud that I'm doing everything I can to ignore it. Typing and analyzing everything, lol. For example here's something I learned a long time ago that I've often used to get to know myself better. If there's something I don't like about someone it's usually b/c there's something about them that reminds me of something I don't like about myself or visa versa. Which gets me to look at some of the ways I am that I don't like and either change that part of myself or realize it's not so bad and learn to like myself a little more. Just breathe......... Members, Good discussion but let's remember to keep it on topic. Maybe some of you have always dwelled on these feelings and did so on your smoke breaks? Now you're just repeating the same habit? Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

"I know I'm always talking about feelings but that's b/c I dwell on mine so much b/c they need to be fixed LOL. B/c sometimes the way I choose to see things gets me "feeling" negative which of course can in turn cause chaos, etc. " Hey Cherie, I do this too, and I hate it. I have to talk to myself all the time. It is worse since I came off the chantix, or since I quit, not sure. If it was easy I suppose everybody would do it!! Anyway, just wanted to mention that I get ya sometimes if you know what I mean :p, I hope you are resting easier these days, I know it is hard and you have been in my thoughts. I always like to see people's faces, that is why I post ours I suppose, it tells me who I am talking to. I agree with you about Duffis for example and his posts back up that feeling, Lainey for me is sweet and loving like her photo, etc...Mercy - well ahem, not quite sure what she is saying, but I like her alot regardless!! :) Sue My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 96 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 960 Amount Saved: $168.00 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 4 Mins: 32 Seconds: 16
