amazing how people around you talk about quitting but thats it so feel stronger than most because people you are taking the step most only talk about but rarely do...Im well on my way and yes have cravings like everyone and i just say to myself NO im not giving in and then i just laugh it off, seems to help me and i just went and am going through a traumatic event with a freind who is now gone and i suppose if you were going to start a shock like this one could easily be an acceptable excuse but i would not give in to temptation!Hope this doesnt sound like a sermon but im doing this cold turkey and doing fine so if you feel weak tell yourself NOT YET and a minute later your urge will be gone Do this for yourself My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 14 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 368 Amount Saved: $126 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 7 Mins: 27 Seconds: 11

Hi Reg Congratulations on 14 days - It's amazing how all of our quits are so different. I posted almost every day for the first couple weeks - either to rant or to find out if I was normal or to get perspective and remind myself that this too will pass.....but then again, that's how I have always dealt with issues in my life - ranting, talking gets it out of my system so I can move on. The first two weeks were one day at a time for me...and sometimes it felt like the craving would never go away - but eventually the craving died down and life went on. The important thing is that we quit so I say good for us!
