Lady - we are so lucky to have you here. When we go through the rough patches it is so important to hear that others have "been there" and that they have thrived. Many thanks for this post! Lady, As you are more than well aware, :) I have also had an extremely difficult quit! And everytime I thought I could see the light at the end of the tunnel, it turned out to be a massive train coming in my direction that knocked me off of my feet, and sometimes my quit. But, exactly 11 months from the day I picked myself up from that train wreck for the very last time, I'm here to say that no matter how hard your quit is, no matter how difficult it might be for you right now, no matter how much you want to give up and no matter how many times you slip and fall, there is hope! There IS a real light at the end of a tunnel and it's not just that big ole train ready to knock you over! I don't think about smoking anymore. I don't want it; I don't long for it; I don't wish I were still a smoker - EVER. Sure, there are times when I might want one, but it's usually a fleeting thought that comes and goes. No matter how hard your quit is, you CAN achieve success, as has been proven by myself, Lady and many others who have had difficult quits. You CAN do this! We wouldn't lie to you! I promise! ;p Crave the Quit! As a smoker, I never understood what people meant when they said everyone's quit is different. When I quit ... I finally understood. All of us and the different paths we have taken to get where we are in our quits each have something unique to offer new quitters ... we have our own personal quit maps. My quit map may help one quitter and not another. Regardless of who it helps or doesn't help, it is important that we make our maps/stories known for others to follow if they can relate and choose to. It is important for many new quitters to make a connection; it may just be the thing that makes them take that first step into the unknown smoke-free world that is waiting for them. Thanks for sharing your map Lady. I'm sure it will help someone take that first step. Great post Thanks Lady. I know I don't need your permission to say this and I have been helped so much by many of the quitters here and a huge amount by many of the quitters we don't see so much any more. The posts, stories and life experience shared here has benefited and helped me maintain my quit. Posting here has helped, no matter what. Choosing life and living life. Hey this is actually fun. Peace Out Phillip My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 224 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,609 Amount Saved: $1792 Life Gained: Days: 36 Hrs: 13 Mins: 34 Seconds: 18
