Hi Bob - What a post!!
First, I want to thank you for sharing your story. Even though, through the last year, I learned each of the various pieces, it was wonderful and inspirational to see it all sewn together in the tapestry of your whole experience. You are so eloquent and always speak from the heart with such wisdom.
Secondly, I want to thank you for starting all of our milestone places - the century club, the 6-12 club, the VIP club et al. These places have become an integral part of the SSC and have provided tangible goals, as well as places for comic relief and escape. How I and many have loved the various environments you created to celebrate our achievements.

And yet underneath it all, I remember how much fear, and ambivalence and whining was underneath my own resolve to stop. Thus I have the utmost compassion for the narcissism, immaturity and lack of sanity of anyone undertaking this process. As I look through the posts several times a week, I am still struck by how supportive this site is and how welcoming and caring people are. Yeah, noone seems as incredible as the group that quit along side of me - but I think it is because THAT group was in a war with me and I feel I know them in the depths of my soul. The newer group, shallower? No, I don't think so. Maybe younger. That could be a difference. And my investment in them is shallower. Because I have moved on and am enjoying the freedom from addiction.
Fourth, I just want to express my hope that as a grandpparent, you will still occasionally visit the site. Your longetivity (both as a non-smoker and as a person) have added an incredible depth of wisdom, humor and perspective. You have been such an important p
