Mr Ed hits the bottle

Hey Mr.Ed- first of all, thanks for the kudos you give everyone here, including myself. I'm surprised England hasn't joined the no smoking in bars thing. But, it probably won't be long since Scotland and Ireland are right there (that's correct, isn't it?). Good job on facing the fear. Rest assured, like here in NY, soon smoking will be confined to dark alleys....so what's the point in even considering it? Still, what a temptation! Keep up the good work! When I close my eyes I see your corner pub and the smoke is unbearable! You did such a great job kicking that demon to the curb. It will be nice when our children can say that to their children - hopefully in our quits we have set such a good example that if they had smoked at one time - they are not smoking now or ever again. Thanks for your visuals - please give Mrs. Ed our best and you deserve to buy yourself that expensive champagne! Mr. Ed You do write delightful vignettes of your quit. Thanks for sharing and I really liked the ending about:
I had no regret apart from the fact that I hadn't given up sooner.
Me too! Hope you at least had a pint or a martini or whatever you Brits have in the corner pub. Your century celebration is coming up, how are you rewarding yourself? Ciao Phillip :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 92 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,846 Amount Saved: $690 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 1 Mins: 3 Seconds: 19

You are a true poet. Just say neigh. Every Day! A true wordmaster. I am laughing. Rainy here and quit cold in the hinterlands of southern canada. They say though that the sun will shine today and tomorrow. Hopefully it will warm up. And I am sure the beach is fantastic! 100 days is looming on the horizon. The sun will rise only a few more times over France and England will finally reign supreme on that century day. Say neigh!!!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 93 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,868 Amount Saved: $697.5 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 5 Mins: 13 Seconds: 26

OMG You got accused of calling the bartender a Demon?!?!? Me TOO!!! LOL! Neigh, I'm jokin! I ain't a big drinker, I had my first drink 60 days into my quit. I have probably drank 3 times in my almost 100 frickin days, but those were the hardest times I had! The first time, I got just a bit tipsy and didnt crave bad at all. The second time was my girlfriends wedding reception and I was One Drunk Chicken....It was hell!! Okay actually I have only drank twice I guess!! But it sucked I know that much! Great job on not givin in! I would love for cigarettes to become illegal, or hear my kids tell my grandchildren that smoking was something done back when!! Sounds great!! =) Your quit is great and I wish you were here in the begining to see psycho Chicken!!! LOL! See ya at the beach! After the barman accused me of calling him a demon, I decided to leave. You are entertaining Mr. Ed :) You are right too. The Nicodemon basically is a coward. He usually only goes after weaknesses. Enjoy your celebration with the wife! Spend some of that money you are no longer sending to big tobacco CEO's ;) All the best~ 2 My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/20/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 273 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,019 Amount Saved: $1365 Life Gained: Days: 25 Hrs: 23 Mins: 13 Seconds: 38

Mr. Ed, I'm always so happy to hear stories like these. Yes, that nicodemon is just a big baby! And the best part is that each time we defeat him, he gets smaller and smaller! Congratulations on making it through the bar scene unscathed! Crave the Quit!
