yeah.......i understand about the "smug" comments - sometimes i read thru the posts and i wonder if that person truly DID quit smoking -It doesn't appear that they remember the feeling of being strung out all the time, like a taut wire about to snap.... I've come close to losing my quit a couple of times now - it's scary. All I really wanted was life to go back to the way it was, where I wasn't constantly thinking about smoking 24/7. And it has. For the most part - I have perhaps one or two mediocre craves a day now. I think your sense of humour will come back......but in the meatime, i like Lady's suggestion of breaking things. Somehow crashing noises and mayhem put things into perspective (or maybe that's just me?!) Just look at your stats - 11 days and 229 times you didn't light up......that is definitely worth keeping!! God, I know how you feel. I've had some long talks and a lot of crying to my husband. Thank God he tolerates me. I am now feeling better every day. Functioning without crying and starting to enjoy life again. Hang in there. Buy fireballs, they work wonders maybe because they are so hot. I also felt comfort just going shopping because I never thought of smoking while in stores. You don't even have to buy anything, just window shop. It helps! I am just sooooo not feeling annnnyyyy better. I want to be a whiney baby and punch all the people right in the nose that are smug about their answers to "when will this end".... Tuesday my A$*%@!!!! I am in just a horrible fit of temper, urges, anxiety, the tears won't stop and I just think this sucks! I don't want to be happy in quit. I don't want to have a good attitude. I am tired of crying...I am tired of being tired. I don't want to use my sense of humor anymore. I am just angry. Stoppin.... I would even Scream in my car at the top of my lungs when no one was there. That felt good too. Lotz of times I thought I was going MAD! I posted several topics on Am I Crazy! LOL You will make it. One step at a time. Do I remember what those first few weeks of quitting were like? Oh you better believe it. I keep it close at hand because I don't ever want to go throught that hell again as long as I live! Keep your quit. Remember these days well...you don't want to repeat them. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 220 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,411 Amount Saved: $770 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 10 Mins: 32 Seconds: 37

You are right where you are suppose to be stoppin. Keep on going. Every day is one day closer to freedom. Day 14 for me I was ready to quit my job, tell everyone where to go and go have me just one little smoke. But I didn't. Smoking won't solve a thing. It just means you have to start all over again. You don't want to do that. Take some really deep breaths. Go buy yourself a little reward for making it through the last 11 days. How about picking up some cheap dishes...and breaking them intentionally? That would be stress releaving. Dig down deep and pull out all the strength you can get your hands on. Every bit of misery you are feeling right now is so worth the freedom that you will start to feel real soon now. No Smoking Allowed! You are doing GREAT! Good for you, Stoppin'. Get angry, feel it deep down. Know the cause of this anger: nicotine withdrawal. Know the source of this anger: tobacco. Know the solution to these feelings: time ... without smoking. Focus this anger on tobacco to help you strengthen your quit. Lady's advice is good, Stoppin'. If you need to smash something, make sure it's cheap and disposable. And just toss responsiblity for a bit and go do something fun, something that really makes you happy. Don't worry about anything but you for a bit because you haven't smoked for 11 days and you've da**ed well earned it. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 259 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,190 Amount Saved: $984.2 Life Gained: Days: 48 Hrs: 9 Mins: 9 Seconds: 43

Hi Stoppin, I don't think the comments you read about Tuesday were meant to be smug. If I recall correctly (it's an older post that got bumped, right?), that post was written at a time when this question was all over the forum. I think the bottom line meaning was it does end...but we can't say exactly when since each person is different. :) This is such a common issue and there's a thread here that I thought you might be interested in reading...all 5 pages lol Angry Club - quitters critters Like Lady said and most anyone can attest to that's done it, it's worth getting through it. Great job...heck week is almost history :) Hang tough.
