Bren.

For me the best way to handle triggers is to bring up out of my memory all the times I have had them in the past and tell myself that I beat them before so I can do it again. After all "If they were wrong then, they still are". That part can't change, what can is how we look at things.

We are glad to hear your niece is okay too.

Hi Bren,

Glad to hear you are feeling better and your niece is ok. Thank you so much for posting this. You gave a great example of how to manage anxiety in a difficult situation.  Nice work!

Thank you Davitt...its been a long day for me,yes the panic will and did pass, but the blood pressure problem did not...took most the day to get back to almost normal....my doctor call several times to check on me,my neice is ok,she did have an overian cyst that ruptured,it was the size of a baseball, but she is better now,and they will let her go home in the morning....I know what my trigger was to start the panic, and i done all i have learned here, and it helped me get through it....it does leave me very washed out...but i will be ok!
Thanks again!

I'm impressed with how you handled this especially your acceptance that it happened and that it will go away. Knowing that it will go away seems to be the key to dealing with it when it happens. For me at least.
I like your use of typing also.

As i am typing this with shaky hands,i am trying to do my breathing and stay focused!
I was awakend by my cell phone,my sister was rushing to the er,as my neice was there, and the doctor had called her, telling her they found fluid in her belly, was not sure if it was water or blood..after i hung up,,,i started feeling funny myself, and was cold and clamey feeling, tried to lay back down, but it started overwhelming me!
So i got up,woke my husband as i was so nauseated at my stomach, and then the shaking stated too...typing helps me to focus..my b/p was way to high,so i did take my blood pressure med....
I have not had a panic eppisode in a long long time...i think the waking in a jerk, and running to the phone, and hearing bad news done it.... it will pass i know...it will pass....as i am typing, and breathing..i am feeling it pass too....just got to focus, and stay positive...
