I too find so much relaxation in the mornings sitting on my back deck watching all the birds flock to the feeders i have out,and once in a while a few deer come up in the yard..beautiful sites and sounds all around us early mornings, and its the best time of day...just coffee and me and my nature friends....

Hi everyone:  We started our new flower beds the day before yesterday around the new front deck.  I had brought about 30 perennials with me and they are doing well in the greenhouse and will be ready to move into the new beds in about three weeks.  Well, we had a lot of rain in the last couple of days and are sitting waiting for better weather.  In the meantime the pond behind the house is filled up nicely and we are watching the Mallard and his mate bathing and feeding.  We had our coffee this morning watching them and laughing at their antics.  There are also some Bufflehead ducks too.  What a lovely way to start the day and what a nice way to enjoy a possibly dreary day because it is still raining on and off.  Mind you the rain doesn't stop Davit, he is still going out to do yardwork.  The veggies are growing well in the greenhouse and keeping us busy watering them every day.

I will be leaving next week for a couple of weeks, flying back for my mother's funeral and burial.  The thought of coming back to my gardening helps me face what I will be going through, including the stress of flying back and forth.  Though I can do it, I really don't like flying that much even though it is exciting in its own way.  Also I look forward to seeing my two daughters again and staying with them while I am there.

Lovely Bren. Gardening can be so theraputic and rewarding. Not to mention all the lovely organic food you will have!
