What i was asking is that if a framework that worked before, could be reproduced as a "routine", then we can return to "normal" states with help.  An example is going to bed and waking as you used to, as opposed to being affected by shift work.
 
I always feared shift work, but once someone just said "...go to bed earlier..." for the midnight shift  Of course unlike Adamedic, I had those gremlins(thoughts) affecting me unlike the colleague

Hello :-)  I remember there was a period that I was going through a very tough time at work.  The majority of my anxiety is surrounded around the fear of developing health problems.  As a Paramedic there was a period of time that I absolutely feared going to work and the 12hour shifts I would spend in a constant state of worry and panic.  It had a big impact on my personality at work as well as my personal life.  All I wanted to do was come home and sleep because I was so exhausted from worrying all day.

One day I had enough and I did several sessions of CBT and worked hard towards trying to change my thought pattern.  I overcame the panic aspect of it and this allowed me to advance my career and do additional training to become an Advanced Care which comes with much higher level of responsibility but also more reward because you can provide better care for your patients.  

If you would of talked to me when I was going through the difficult time I was thinking about quitting the career that I love and would of never envisioned myself to be in the position I am now.  I still do struggle with moderate levels of stress / anxiety at work but I work hard to keep them in check and realistically I feel that most jobs have some aspect of stress associated with them and it is not possible to completely eliminate it.

I wonder if there are success stories after recovering, or showing noticeable results, after a "tough" time, or being unwell?
 
This came to mind after I had a desire to reclaim some things I used to do, even though they were "ordinary", so they might spark some old familiar patterns.  eg. I used to schedule some exercise first thing in the morning, before I went to work, but now I do that exercise later
