Hi everyone.  I am new to the boards.  I am in dire need of help from anxiety as my life is spiriling out of control.  I try to tell myself it is anxiety, but I have always worried that it is a more severe medical condition that I am letting go without knowledge.  I hope to gain help and support by joining.

Thanks.

What I forget, is a saying that kept me going.  "Anxiety is like a tunnel, just drive through the tunnel, and you'll come out the other side".

The other one is, "anxiety is anticipation holding its breath".

The idea of cycles or rhythms is true about pain too.  Pain especially, is only temporary, with a big breaks in the middle of a pulse.  I used have neck pains, and I couldn't think, so I had to wait to the little time in between the pain, to process whatever I was working at.

I don't know if you've played basketball, but when take a jump shot, there's a timing to wait until you've just floated down below the peak of your jump, to release the ball...so we have learn to wait for that moment

Friend of mine said today...anxiety is like a roller coaster ride..you stand in line, sweaty palms, shaking, anticipations, axniously awaiting to ride it!!!
As your riding, your still in excitment mode, then as the coaster starts the last lapp, you start calming down, knowing it will be over soon!
Now,if you rode that same roller coaster everyday, after a while, there would not be that anxiety!!!!
He also said,,,we have to learn to go with the flow of anxiety, and allow it only a certian time to be within us,then let go of it!!!
This made alot of since to me..so iam going to try this and see if there something to it!
Bren
