Nerve pain triggers

12 years ago 0 11 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I have been suffering from nerve pain for the past 20 or so years so I can definitely relate to your situation Bren.

I don't know if this can help for you or not, but you might talk to your doctor about using a medication like Gabapentin or Lyrica. It will be important to talk to the doctor about potential side-effects before you add it to your regime. Some people gain weight on these medications, but it may turn out to be that the medication's benefits outweighs the side effects.

Keep going with the exercise Bren - we're behind you!

Hi Bren,

Good for you for going to the class. Sorry to hear you were experiencing leg pain.  Davit offers awesome advice.  Sometimes we will do things that cause us physical pain and that is ok.  It will pass.  What did you like about the class? Who did yoyu meet there that you might like to get to know?

Bren.

Any thing new or foreign will trigger anxiety in us. It still does in me. And pain is one of my triggers. It just does not trigger panic anymore. Whether you overdid it or not is less important than the ability to be able to say, this doesn't belong here allright but it is okay, it will go away. I had to learn to do this when I had an infected disk. The pain was inescapable.
I certainly would take the Benzo (it is a muscle relaxant also) and any thing else to get rid of the pain. But I would still tell myself this feeling is supposed top be there.
Did you enjoy the water class? Some times the things we enjoy are going to cause pain or stress. Some people actually do it on purpose.

After yesterday,i was so hoping i dont the right thing in going to my water class..but i have been up most the night with nerve pain in my tailbone area and down my legs...
I have had to take 2 zanax to get through the night,as the nerve pain triggers my anxiety, and i did have that too alot!
I see my pt therapist this am,so ill ask her , maybe i over done it?
