Hi Ya Maria:

Welcome. you will find a lot of caring people here which I have referred to as an on-line cheering section.  They are here for you in both good and not so good times.

As for any quick relaxation techniques, what I have learned in my journey with Anxiety/Panic Disorder is that in order to relax one has to be patient and willing to practice.  Oh did I mention practice? My teachers cannot emphasize the importance of practice where you get to a point at which relaxation becomes incorporated into your everyday life , this is where all your practice pays off.

Good Afternoon Maria,

Welcome to our wonderful support community. You have reached the right place for lots of great advice, support and encouragement.

Many members here can relate to your symptoms and concerns and are always willing to help in any way they can.

Please do take the time to go through the program and start working on the sessions. Although it does require some effort, the process will allow you to learn a lot about yourself and how you perceive and deal with anxiety and depression. There are effective tools that have been designed to assist you in your journey towards conquering both.

Please post as often as you need to. We are all here for you. Members, please share relaxation techniques that work for you and help to ease the anxiety and nervousness.

Hang in there!

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to the site.  I am diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder and Depression.  I've been on Cipralex for 5 weeks now 5 mg 1/2 pill.  I have been told to increase the dose to 10mg at 6 weeks which is getting me a little bit nervous as I do not know what to expect.  I still feel anxiety/heaviness across my chest area.  Looking for any good recommendations on quick relaxation techniques that have helped other people with GAD.  I am employed but currently off work while i work this out.
