Hello Birdie , i was like you . But two years ago i finally cracked and told husband , family and the older two children . OOO the relief , everyone has been fantastic and so understanding . Even the littlies at times . Even though i try my best to keep things 'normal' as possible around them . Can be very hard but i dont want them to end up like me .

I'm struggling with this right now. I feel like I'm doing the right thing by seeking help but not sure how much or to whom I should or could confide in. No one close to me really knows how much I struggle. I have kept friends at a distance most of my life. I only do so much and then when I'm in a position that is awkward for me I back off that relationship. Sometimes I just want to come out and say that I suffer from agoraphobia but that is very personal and I don't want my teenage children to find out. I know it can be scary for me and I don't want to worry them or confuse them. They are both very out going and self confident so I really encourage that kind of growth. I am really struggling to put this all in perspective. I would really appreciate any thoughts any of you have on this!!!!!! Birdie

Myth: I wish I were like everyone else and ask for help. Fact: Many people do not seek help because they do not feel safe disclosing their symptoms due to the stigma they fear may be associated with having a mood disorder. Josie
