Hiya CJ,
I get rapid heartbeat, thumping heart beat, skipping heart beat, heart palpitations, fluttering heart beat,... Well you get the point lol And it alwys seems to get worse when I am stressed out. But I agree with Danielle that if it is really annoying you there is no harm in having it checked :)
I suggest you try out the program here. It helped me a lot! And when I am less stressed my body responds accordingly so I figure it is worth a shot :)
Anyway, hang in there, this too shall pass!

CJ,
Welcome to the Panic Center! A rapid heartbeat is fairly common among individuals with anxiety however should symptoms persist or worsen, it may be wise to see your MD.
Have you tried any of the relaxation strategies from the program?

Hi am 44, seem to be in good health, BP is 130/80. Been having heart palps, sensations in my chest and stomach that freak me out. I take prozac 10ml daily for depression and anxiety. been very stressed lately. i took magnesium that seemed to help. Seems like it comes and goes. stress seems to make it worse and /i am edgey. my 20 year old son drives me nuts, he is very annoying and lovs to upset me til I am screaming. I try not to but it gets to me after awhile. i ended up taking a nap today because of him and I was having funny heart beats and stressed. anybody else have this problem, ? I have had a rapid pulse for years, 2 echocardiograms which were fine. I may get a EKG just to make sure it isnt serious as it came on about 5 days ago....the heart flutteing and stuff. I usually do not have it hang around this long. It is better today than it was yesterday. thanks for any feedback! CJ
