Well it happened this morning, Her waters broke, of we went to the hospital in quite a rush, Down the dreaded motorway, did not feel anxious 1 bit, in the hospital she had the baby and still no anxiety, came back home down the motorway again fine, back home and I feel bloody great.. Have I conquered my fear?? I certainly hope so :)
I'm going to continue the course just to be sure, but thanks for all the help
Wow David congratulations :)
Well i think the advice you already got truely is great advice. Also, if i might add, bring a distraction. For moments where you feel you have nothing to do but wait, bring a distraction like a book or good music. It will help you cope. I find in situation where I felt stuck, having a great means of distraction really helped me a lot. Surprising how much that can help. Anyway, hope this helps a bit. And again congratulations :)

David,
Challenge those thoughts and do a dry run on paper and in your head. Your support is needed and this is a great time in your life! Take some you time and walk around, familiarize yourself and put yourself out there to assist in any way you can.
Each day is a new day and you can progressively work on your day to day challenges.
Congratulations!
Josie

Right tomorrow my wife is getting taken into hospital to give birth, I'm really scared about it, firstly I have to face a 10 mile stretch on a motorway which is one of my biggest fears, then I have to stay at the hospital until she has the baby. I can't drive so can't escape, I'll get a taxi home that evening.
I really don't know how to cope, Mostly because I feel well and truely trapped. One of my most happiest periods is going to be a nightmare.
Then I have to cope with staying at home alone that night.
I can't see any positives in this situation at all.
