Jo, Has this symptom ever occurred before? If not, it may be related to your cold. Should it continue, persist or worsen consult your physician or other health care provider. Until then, try distracting yourself throughout the day and concentrate on bringing those anxiety levels back to a level that is manageable. Keep close, we will help see you through. Jo, What you described does in fact sound like depersonalization. Anxiety can manifest itself in lots of ways. You can have the symptoms of anxiety without having an actual panic attack. I often feel alot worse when I'm sick or when I have a cold.

Hi, well heres the thing last saturday I was sick for no reason really just felt really sick tried to tell myself I was'nt going to be sick and I was, so the next day it bothered my a lot why that happened for no reason and I just felt ill l ike I had a flu bug or something, went to my parents for dinner could'nt eat as my mouth felt all spongey, felt like my tongue and throat were swollen and I was going to swallow my tongue, my whole body especially my head felt like a big soft sponge ball and I was trying really hard to concentrate on one thing to get rid of it as I thought I was going to pass out, the next day I came out with a cold which can explain a lot of things but the thing that is really freaking me big time is, I constantly feel like I cannot feel my legs I get up and its like wheres my legs these are not mime and I feel so distant and not with it like I am sat at home but in my head I am picturing somewhere else and everything seems strange, is all this that depersalization and I don't think I have ever had this this bad before its like you lose touch with reality and am having an out of body experience, I am not having a panic attack but is this another form of panic as its really scarey me, crying a lot about it lately especially to sit there and not feel any of your body and like you are not in it that is really strange is something happening to me as I am really scared and won;t do anything now and have to go out tongiht but really don not want to.
