Christina, Welcome...you mentioned in your intro that only your husband accepts you as a person. I think I can be safe to say that all the members here also accept you as a person who is struggling at this time of your life. Since we are all working toward freeing ourselves from anxiety and panic attacks...we feel your pain and suffering also. I'm sure there are members here that have had similar relationship issues that will step up to help you. Good luck with your sessions. Keep your head up, Laine

Yes I have the CBT Buddies. I haven't been on lately because I have been busy with Christmas coming up - ya know, parties and shopping and all that fun stuff. I will try to get on this week and maybe catch you on there so we could chat ;)

Hello Christina!! I've had panic disorder for almost 3 years now and became slightly agoraphobic myself. It all started after an abusive relationship with a boyfriend ended. It seems that once I wasn't being controlled, manipulated, and physically/emotionally abused anymore, the panic attacks set in. It was sooo scary at first but I continued to work and go to school. Then I met my fiance and the panic attacks stopped for about a year, but the anxiety remained. After I had my son the panic and agoraphobia came back full force and I have been struggling ever since then. I make myself get out, go to school, go shopping, but the fear I experience is so intense that I am miserable until I get to my house (my safe zone). I worry something is wrong with me because I am dizzy all the time. I have been doing the program and I am slowly getting better. Like you, I want to beat this without any meds. I was prescribed lexapro but that didn't work out for me so now I just take a mult-vitamin and magnesium. I hope that you continue to get better. I know it is always nice to know that you are not alone in the symptoms you experience. I felt so much better knowing other people were going through the same things as me. Be strong and know you aren't alone. Keep me posted on how you do.

Christina, You have come to the right place! Please feel free to roam the site at your own pace. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physicians advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. If you have any questions or concerns with our "TOOLS" you can contact our support specialist in our feedback section at the bottom of this page. Looking forward to hearing from you again soon. My name is Christina, and I've had panic disorder for more than a year. I started having panic attacks when I went on a trip with my husband on our 1 year anniversary. I was driving and started to feel light-headed and had to pull over the side of the road. My husband drove. I kept having panic attacks on vacation. When we got back, I became agoraphobic and stayed in the house for 2 months. I had severe panic attacks when I went to the doctors, and went to therapy and went on medication - Celexa. Recently, I was on 60 mg of Celexa, and I went off of it because I cannot afford it. I don't want to rely on medication, and I want to try herbal remedies for my anxiety. I gradually went off of celexa. I've been feeling nautious and lightheaded. Is that normal? I've been watching a movie, so that has been helping me, and I have been having tea. I worked for 2 weeks when I was on medication, but I had to quit because my panic attacks were getting worse. I had trouble breathing at work, and I was hyperventilating. My husband was upset. My husband has been understanding about it mostly, but he thinks I give up easily. It's not that...but I get overwhelmed easily and have trouble coping with life. I was abused most of my life by my mom. She physically and emotionally abused me, and I cut the relationship off with my mom. I still am angry with my mom. I hope to overcome anxiety because it has really affected my life. I get frustrated over it. I go through a lot of hurt and resentment with people. I have a great husband that loves me, and he is the only one that has accepted me as a person.
