My eyes are bothering me

Angel, What you described happens to me ALL THE TIME! I can't believe you have the same thoughts. I can't stop picturing myself choking when I am eating. About a month ago, it was really bad - I couldn't eat solids. I'd even picture myself choking on liquids (which isn't even possible!) The thoughts are very intense and once they come, its hard to continue eating. However, I can tell you that it gets better with time. The more positive eating experiences you have, the less these images will pop-up. I find that I am improving, but its definitely hard. I still can't stand eating alone, or eating 'tougher' foods like steak and pizza. I'll post a seperate thread here about this soon. Much of my anxiety relates to my breathing and this particular problem has been a huge cause of my panic attacks. We can beat this! Brad

Thanks lulu and josy for relpying also. Its a scary feeling but we have to learn not be afraid of it. I'm trying really hard. Today I didn't have such a good day cause i was nervous about an exam i had to write. ON my way to school, i felt anxious. There was so much pressure in my head and around my eyes, and of course....my eyes felt wierd again. But i'm trying not to get nervous. So i hope we can all do this together. I keep thinking negative thoughts. I'm trying to stop them...but sometimes when they are really intese, i cannot stop them. For example, right now i was eating almonds and enjoying the taste. BUT, i kept having these thoughts and images of me choking on an almond and my face turning blue and not being able to breath. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY THIS THOUGHT....WHYYY. I cannot seem to just STOP thinking. Any advice on what to do with these anxious thoughts when they are so intense?????/

Thanks so much for replying! I will try my best not to worry about this. It sounds normal. But i guess i'm just focusing on it sooo much that I notice it! Thank you

Hi Angel, What you have discribed sounds perfectly normal. However, it doesn't hurt to get an eye exam - I think they recommend one every two years anyway. But there really is nothing to worry about here.

Hello! I worry about a lot of things and I wouldn't worry about this. When I was in university (years ago!) we did experiements in a psychology with shutting the lights on and off and seeing the tricks your eyes play on you. Sounds bizzare, but true! Unless its hugely dramatic and its really effecting you I wouldn't worry about it. And remember the more you look for it the more you will notice it. Take care ;)

Angel, Try and see an eye doctor to rule out anything medical. Also write in your journal when exactly these occurrences happen. The time of the day and place it is happening can also be of assistance. Is in occurring in conjunction with something else? Take this information to your doctor to assess after you have had an appointment with the eye doctor. Hope this helps, Josie _______________________________ The Panic Center Support Team.

Hi everyone. Here is another situation i'm dealing with now. I always feel like i'm going to faint and my eyes feel different. They get really blurry and then i start to panic. This is one of the symptoms that makes me so afraid. I feel like it gets worse when i have been exposed to a strong light (E.g: a light from a car), and then I go into a dark room. My eyes don't adjust so quickly to the darkness and i continue seeing spots of light. I dont' know if this is normal or not because i forgot what it feels like to be normal. Does anyone experience any problems with their eyes? Do u also feel faintess? plz let me know. I'm so afraid
