Sheena, I've been where you many times. There's this condition called globus that basically gives you the sensation that there is a lump in your throat. It's part of the anxiety. About 12 years ago this was abig issue for me. I went to doctors and had tests done because I was convinced I had something stuck in my throat. About 1 year ago it came out of the blue after i started have really bad indigestion and GERD. It's gotten a little better. Go to the doctor for reassurance if you need to. But once he/she tells you things are fine (God willing) don't second him or her. When this used to get bad for me I would drink a glass of water and say, junior you know what if if had something in your throat you could not drink that water. I would eat something like pudding and tell myself the same thing. At the end of the day I would realize that I ate a couple meals or didn't suffocate (my own issues) I could say if you really had a problem you have long been dead, dude. With our anxiety simple anxious lump natural lump in the throat becomes magnified times 10. one time I was having slight jaw pain. I became so fixated on it I was convinced that I had tetanus. I truly had lockjaw. Of course I really did not. My point is our anxiety magnifies the small and sometimes natural things. Take care. Junior.

Hi, Havent visited this site for about 4 months, trying to struggle on by myself. Started to feel much better about September time, not so tired and anxious and the last few weeks have started going into town on my own and not feeling faint when in shops and even managed to go for a checkup at the dentist which I hadnt done in over a year. Now I have started with another symptom I havent had before and I think its worse than my dizzy symptoms and what makes it worse is whether it is due to anxiety or if there is something else wrong. I'm going back to the doctors next Monday if I can wait that long but I feel a failure and hope the doctor doesnt just instantly put it down to anxiety, well here it is, please let me know if you have similar symptom.... I feel that there is a lump in my throat (left side) and I keep trying to clear my throat, when I cough it feels that there is a swelling or I am trying to cough something up, then I cant swallow. I also find it hard to swallow food/water and I am constantly thinking about swallowing which I know only makes the feelings worse. Its really starting to freak me out but I am sure its anxiety although it happened about the same time I got a throat/ear infection and sickness seems to make me feel more anxious. I am really down about this as I am starting to look for employment after being off for six months and I feel like im back at square one again. Does anyone else have this problem and any suggestions how to help? thanks
