This is what worked for me over the spring and summer

Hi Khris, I hope you had a good day. Did you start the Lexapro yet? I am still taking the Paxil its exhausting me, I have not had a full-blown panic today just alot of shaky anxiety, I go back and forth from "wired to tired" My son is sick and I am fighting it off and my period from hell is due any day, may God be with me! My nurse said Paxil worked well before and is hoping it will work well again, I pray she is right, its been a few years so I hope it works the same and not differently, the changes are very small and slight and the side effects have been brutal, I have this real bad eye pain that of course scares me because I heard Paxil can cause Glacoma, the eye disease, I read too much I think. Let me know how you are doing, I hope your girls are good. God bless, Debbie.

I know some of you have emailed or asked me about the remission. I was not a medium case, I was a full blown case of panic and anxiety and freaking out like most of us on a daily basis. First, I did the panic program here on this board and it kept me accountable. The medications I took: Xanax (4 times a day) that cut the panic attacks in half and eventually they were not nearly as strong. I took Ambien for sleep. I liked it very well. Asleep in 30 min, no waking up afraid and then feeling rested in the morning. And the thing that helped me the most was the Lexapro, 20mg. I did not have any side effects from it. Aside from a little sleepy at first, I fixed that by taking it at night before bed. After a few days I started it in the morning after breakfast. I started off with just 10mg and was on that for 2 weeks, and then the 20 mg. First, IT WORKS FAST. You do not have to wait the 6-9 weeks to tell a difference. You may feel worse at first...DO NOT QUIT, it will pass and only last a few days. The lexapro worked great and I was truly "normal" all summer and feeling great. I had a few "bumps" every now and then, but mentally I was NOT able to focus on them..it was more of nusiance than anything. So the middle of Sept comes and I did not re-fill my RX and got off because I felt so good. DUH!!!! bad mistake. The panic/anxiety is returning and I am back being dependant on the Xanax for fast relief. I feel edgy at night now and that darn "i can not breathe" feeling is back. I am going to start back on my Lexapro this week and STICK IT OUT for as long as I must!!!!! I am just so glad to come back to my safe zone and work through it, here. :)
