Hi I started on effexor a couple of months ago as mirtazapine that I'd been on for a year just suddenly stoped working. Once I'd gotten over the side effects, which were difficult at first, have found it is working okay. The only problem I've found is that compared to mirtazapine which aided sleep especially at a lower dose effexor has made sleeping a bit of a problem for me, so try to get myself relatively tired during the day. But yes, I don't feel so down anymore and my anxiety has been fairly minimal too, so thats great ! Good luck, and remember to give it a chance !

Hey Ann, I have been taking effexor for about 4 months. I like it. It has been good for me. I was so afraid to take it at first but I soon realized that I needed the extra help. I was tired at first but I adjusted well to it. I started at the lowest dosage and then went up to 75. My doctor would like to keep me on it until October. I hope this helps and I hope you find success with it.

Hey there, I was on Effexor for a few months...but I didn't give it a chance....I switched to Zoloft....but I felt the Effexor was working and wish I had continued with it...The side effects for me were very minimal... You should speak with your doctor/pharmacist and they can help you and provide the best advise. Best, B

Hi everyone- I went to the doctor today and we have come to the conclusion that I have depression along with anxiety. I have been on paxil for five years or so and she thought maybe it was time to try a new med. The paxil just doesn't seem to be doing its job. My doctor prescibed me with Effexer the lowest dose because of course I always have problems with meds. I was just wondering if anyone has had good success with effexer or if it didn't help. Please let me know what your thoughts are. Thanks:)
