A benefit I am starting to notice is taste, I have just had my lunch (I work permanent night shift 5 nights a week and Monday/Tuesday is my weekend) lunch is around 2 -3am, just had Stilton Cheese on Crackers + mug of Tea and enjoyed it very much, looking forward to my next Curry !

I read all the posted reasons and I can identify with most of them.

I'll feel more in control of myself.
I'll be proud of myself each day I don't smoke.
I'll be able to engage in long activities without having to constantly go smoke.
I'll be healthier, and that will make me feel better.
I'll save money and time.
No more stinking like cigarettes! (pee uwe!"
Singing will be easier.

It will be easier to start dating again after a messy divorce.  Most guys are on a health kick, especially the ones in the dating world.  No more hiding ciggs from my kids, or worse, going outside right in front of them, when they KNOW where I am going and what I am doing.  No more shame at work from hiding from the non-smokers.  More money for important things.

I just started my business in financial services.  I am really embarrassed to be selling Life Insurance and be an empowerment coach who smokes.  I want to be a role model to my family, friends, clients, etc. that is worthy of duplication !

We talk about how many cigarettes we haven't smoked and the time gained in our lives... I smoked around 15 a day so am thinking what else can I do with the time gained that will make my day even better. 15 a day with an average of 4minutes a cig = 60minutes/ an hour saved a day...in a week 7 hours... what can I do to replace the 7 hours of bad habit, to a new habit that will make me smile and happy...

My boyfriend will not be scared of riding in the car with me. (He's highly allergic)
I won't get mad every time my cigarette butts get rained on. (cause I was saving them for when I run out)
I won't have to worry about the weather or where my next pack is going to come from.
I won't have to worry about my future kids.
I won't feel like a drug addict, I'll be in control, my life will be healthier and longer.

Hi Members,

What are your benefits for quitting?  How do you remind yourself of these benefits when the cravings get difficult?
