Ok so this is the first site ive gone to that will let me post at least something. I've got something for the people out there trying to quit. This hasn't been easy but for me this worked.to refrain from paying 6.50/7.00 dollars a day on a pack of cigarettes I decided cold turkey after I did the math. Sometime it would be 2 packs purchased in one day if I had a few friends over but generally 6.50/7.00 a day. $195/210 in 30 days. I thought the turkey process would work but it didnt.i lasted about 3 to 4 days before buying another pack. Bought the pack and was really disappointed when I broke down to buy one. That night I decided that was the last pack I'd buy and the next day I woke up and thought of Sherlock Holmes for what ever reason lol went to the tobacco shop by the time they opened asked for a pipe tobacco Sherlock Holmes looking pipe and I was offered several styles picked one out got a bag of tobacco (6oz bag) for 7.99 and the pipe for $5 out the door and I have probably 4 pipes full left and it's been a month today. I'm not sure what the difference was but at $195/210 a month to around $15 a month for me is cheaper and a easy way to wing of and smoke less. Again for me this process worked great and now when I'm out and about and get the urge, it's been a routine for years everyday of the year going goin and asking for cigarettes, and it's nothing anymore by the time the light turned green. For me to drive a 1/4 mile to the nearest place the sold cigarettes I didn't even think about puling in untill I passed it and shortly realized it and started to laugh. Only a couple miles from home I instantly lost the urge and continued home. Even after I was back I still didn't load my pipe. I think for some cold turkey is the way they have to go and I know gum and patches are a nother way. I pretty much just changed my routine a lil and it's give me a different mindset when it comes to having the urge it situations and I believe the convience of a pre rolled cigarette is a big factor as well. I generally once I lit my cigarette I would smoke the whole thing and I smoked Marlboro menthol 100s. My pipe packs half a cigarette and I can smoke off and on for around an hour just on one bowl. Just get my nicotine fix and I'm goodnot trying to say an alternative habbit will make you quit but for me it's saved me $180/200 a month and I'm more than happy with that, and eventually my strong mindedness will help me to further my quiting journey which for the most part has been going great breathing and stamina wise. Recommended for the people that aren't able to quit cold turkey or just trying to cut back for the month because you need parts for your race car, whatever the circumstances you may be going through. Or if you just continue going back to smoking. Thank you for reading and I hope this has helped someone, more than welcome to answer questions or just your own thought in general. Have a safe and easy smoke free life.
