Hi Glenda,

I am sorry to heaf about the COPD. The patches worked for you last time so it sounds like a good option for you. Check with your pharmacist but I believe you can take them off at night and reapply them in the morning.

How are you doing today?

Hi Glenda,
Sorry to hear about the bad news. I cannot give you any help concerning the inhaler or spray mist, I have no experience with them. I can  give you some help with the patch. That's what I used to kick the habit. The dreams at night are really weird to put it lightly. Not sure if it will be the same for you as it was for, but by not wearing the patch at night, the weird dreams went away. Put the patch on first thing in the morning and take it off before bed time. It helps control the nicotine urge while you work on the mental part, which in my opinion, is the hardest part. By day 35 the patch adhesive started breaking me out where it was applied. I tried stepping down, but they still irritated my skin too. By then though, I had confidence that I could beat that nasty habit and stopped wearing them altogether. I never looked back. So I can say for a fact that my quit was/is successful by using the patch as a crutch, even though I did not go through the whole program. You've quit before so you know what to expect. Too bad you started back up though. I hope you know what went wrong the first time so you can be prepared this time.
I wish you the best in your quit journey. Keep us posted with your progress, good or bad.

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Not sure where to start here, I need help! Yesterday I was diagnosed with copd, not mild, my dr wants to set me up with oxygen tanks for night time. Obviously I have to quit smoking. I've smoked for 45 years and I'm not sure what to do. I have only quit once , although I was success full for three years. I used the patch that time but the nightmares were dehabilitating, horrid, watch both my sons die in my dreams. Still have a hard time with that. I know for a fact that I will need to use a nrt, but not sure what one to use, I have a vapor thing, but I'm afraid of it. The patch scares the crap out of me. I can't chew gum or suck candys at work. Questions I have:  What about in inhaler? anyone have success with that?
Do you still get dreams if you use the patch only during the day? Can you still success full? Has anyone tried the spray mist thing? I can't use champix as I have a low seizure threshold . I want to quit tomorrow so will need to purchase my "supplies" today, so any input from you all would be great. Thank you
