Bupropion and Anger

Hi Mosseared,

Congrats on deciding to quit. I am glad you are looking into quit aids as there are lots of good options. Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist about possible side effects of Champix as this medication can effect each individual differently. There is also info here that might be helpful: https://www.drugs.com/sfx/champix-side-effects.html

Hi guys, I am really ready to quit this time. I have been thinking about it for months and a big part of me is looking forward to it. I do worry about failing though. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if Bupropion causes mood swings and anger. I have tried chantix/champix in the past and it worked really well for cravings, was smoke free for a couple of months. But it did cause me to fly off the handle at the smallest thing. I don't believe it was any anger or anxiety related to withdraw as these feelings only got worse as time went on. By the 2Nd month it was unbearable, not just for myself but for my loved ones to. I was hoping to try Bupropion if I can help me stop in the same way champix did but I do not want the anger, I am getting married in January and the last thing I want is to have a melt down at the wedding (which I am already anxious about). Please let me know what you guys think, Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mosseared
