Hi Ilovejoe, I don't know that I can add anything to what Vicker4 has wrote. I do want to add that couseling has helped me out a lot. I would check in the phone book or your school system about free counseling. You are still a minor and I know in our state (WASHINGTON< THE EVERGREEN STATE)that they do offer free couceling for youths. Even getting one or two sessions can be of tremendous help as long as you get hooked up with a someone with knowlege with panic disorder. Best of luck. Jimbo

Don't worry about ranting and raving. That's what we all do. That's partly what we're here for. ;p There isn't a single person on this site that doesn't know what you're going through - I promise! What you are talking about is called "All or none thinking." It's never a headache, it's a stroke. It's never gas, it's a heart attack. It's never a thunderstorm, it's a tornado cloud. Very Common!!! It's the basis for panic / anxiety. Your thoughts let you see things as more than they are and this causes panic / anxiety. There are many ways and many theories to get through this. I've been dealing with this for 12 years and I can tell you from my own experience and trying many different things, I have learned that the only way to beat this is by learning to take control of your thoughts. This is called Cognitive Behavior Therapy. This website offers a free 12 week course that will teach you Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Take advantage of it and use the program religiously! It takes a lot of effort and determination but I can tell you personally, that for the first time in 12 years, I finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. This is finally making sense to me and I know there is hope. There is hope for you, too. I absolutely promise!!! Work on the program. Work on it until it goes away or at least gets better and keep working on it. It's free so if you're worried about affording a therapist, don't worry. You can use the program without a therapist - I do. I know that some here use a therapist also, but I don't feel it's necessary. Use the support group anytime you need to ask a question, vent, cry, find a connection to someone who understands, learn from other people's experiences, or whatever. I hope we can help you make it easier. Hang in there! You are stronger than you feel - I promise!!

I dont know if i can do this here? Am i aloud to rant about my anxiaty stuff? Sorry if im not supposed to...im new here. Ever since i was little i have been a "worryer" And its always been about stupid small things like fires, or tornadoes, or chocking. ( i guess those arent really small things though) Within the last few years though things have gotton worse. I cant not worry about something, i have to Find something to worry about if im not worrying. I was a germaphobe for 2 years, OCD, scared to death of being gay, and now am terrified of social situations. I am also a hypochondriach, infact thats what brought me to the site tonight, i know i dont, but cant stop thinking i have a blood clot...im only 16. It caused me to have a panic attack. It is causeing so much stress that i can not remember things anymore. My parents do not belive that i have anything wrong. In fact i belive my mother thinks i am the "normal one" in the family...the only one that hasnt been to therapy. My dad is slightly more understanding and brought me ahome a brouchure for a therapist...but i dont think we can afford it right now. I dont know what to do because my parents keep pushings me to get a job, so does my bf, but the thought of it begins another panic attack. Anyways... does anyone else have family that doesnt belive anything is wrong with them?
