I catch myself clenching my teeth all the time! I do believe it's caused by stress. I found that using a "sports" mouth guard (from Wally World, about $20) helped me considerably. HTH!!!

I clench and grind my teeth when I am cleaning or concentrating on something. I don't always realize I am doing this but it hurts later.

I'm sitting here in pain myself. It's the feeling I get in my jaw when I've been blowing up balloons. It's been coming and going over the last few months. I already had one wisdom tooth break through, and now another is starting. I don't know if clenching my jaws is to blame, or if it was just time for these teeth to break through. I do find myself clenching involuntarily sometimes. I have no money or dental plan, plus just the thought of going to the dentist seems like an impossibility at this point (agoraphobic) so this pain is very distressing. I'm sure I need my wisdom teeth out, but I don't know how that's ever going to happen.

For a while now I have had this little problem where I clench my jaws without noticing. The clenching is causing me a lot of pain. when I catch myself doing it I try to relax my jaw, and that is when I feel it. it feels like i've been chewing non stop for days!! it causes me to feel tired and like theres a pressure on my head. The clenching is especially bad at night, and this morning i woke up with terrible pain and a blood taste in my mouth. I had broked the gums of my wisdom teeth! My dad has the same problem and had to get a mouth guard. He says its stress and tension that causes us to do this. Does anyone else here experience the same thing?
