Hi Terrylu,

Welcome! Many quitters learn the hard way that it never is "just one". I am glad you have already learned that lesson. Nice work.

How are you doing today?

Thanks Tim, I got my meter running! I'm finding it hard. My hands are constantly searching out for my pack of smokes. So I thought I'd come in here to type to keep them busy. What happened before was that I gave into a craving and bought a pack and said "I'll only have one". Well one turned into 20 then 40 and I couldn't stop myself. Felt like failure and just gave up. So now I know I can't buy a pack because I cannot have only one.

Hi Terri,
Welcome to the SSC. Congratulations on your decision to quit tomorrow. I see you've went through your program, it should help you. Get your meter running too so we can praise you on your accomplishments!
Excited and scared, what a combination! You've did this before so you pretty much know what to expect. Keep your guard up and try not to fall off the wagon again.  If you do, dust yourself off and try it again. There's nothing wrong with failing so long as you keep trying. It's when you quit trying that you really fail. Do you know why you started smoking again, and have you made a plan for it so it won't happen again this time? It sounds like your ready to give it another go.
Best wishes to you in your journey.

Hi everyone, my name is Terri. Nice to meet everyone. Well I've made up my mind tomorrow is the day I will become a non-smoker. I am so tired of being a slave to these little white sticks of dynamite. I think after 40 years it is about time to stop. My lungs are tired. Several years ago I did quit for 6 months but fell off wagon and then turned into a smoking monster. I believe I have what I need to help me, got my NRT, snacks, a plan for the most part. I'm excited and scared.
