I'm so sorry your mom passed, Sharon. However, for you, its even more important that you put emergency plans in place; things to do in an emergency instead of smoking. You can carry a printed list or put it in noted on your smart phone but have it handy at all times...and of course, use the things on it instead of smoking. Hang in there, you're doing great! Denise

Thanks for your words of support. I'm going back on the patch. It worked for me before and I quit for 6 mos but then my Mom got really sick and I broke down and bought a pack and that was the end of that. My Mom passed away a little over a year ago, from lung desease from smokin these crappy cigs. One of the last things she told me in the hosp was, No Smokin, I think she knew it (her passing) would tear me up and it did. She didn't want me to end up like her. I need to quit for me and for her!!!

I'm right there with you, Sharon! I've quit multiple times, too, but we CAN and WILL do this! Be sure and come here and post often, these folks will help you when you need it and kick you when you need that, too. We ARE quitters, let's make this OUR  year!

No need to apologize Sharon! Thank you for sharing your thoughts so honestly.

Congratulations on getting started. It sounds like you really want this - this is important. Really wanting it is the most important part. The next important part if preparation. The more you can prepare the more likely you will be successful. Use the program. It will work you through an entire quit program. Also, search through the forums for discussions that pertain to you. We have a wealth of information here. Post often - we will help you every step of the way.

In addition to joining this program how also have you begun to prepare or plan to prepare?

I'm back again after many tries, to quit having these cigs control my life. I'm just sick and tired of the hold they have on me.I've turned into a chain smoker and they don't even taste good. All they do is stink up my house and car and make me short of breath and keep my broke $........... I have to try again till I get it right........I need to find another way of handling stress, not start back smokin....I started smokin when I was 15 and that was the dumbest thing I've ever done in my life!!!!!!!!  Sorry everyone.............just need to get this right this time,  wish me luck or somethin               )
