manaboutown, Is there any possibility that you are adopted? Is anyone else on this site adopted. Just wondering, it gave me that ghost feeling for years 'til I found my family.

thanks for all your replies. I'm not feeling any better... I'm so f-ing scared. It's been 2 days, and I still feel like I'm out of reality. I tried listening to some music, but I couldnt hear it properly! I was listening, but it wasn't doing anything! Music was my life, and this is the longest I've been without it. Please tell me this is temporary! Music was what kept me alive. Since the panic attack- I've felt terrible, out of reality, terrified, and I can't concentrate on anything. And even music is gone!! HELP!!!!!!!!

Hi Jim, Sorry to hear that you are feeling this way right now. Please know that you do not have to suffer through these kinds of symptoms alone. Help is available. If you haven't done so already, you may want to consider speaking with your doctor. You can use some of the tools available on the site to help with this. Hope to hear from you soon, Casey _______________________________ The Panic Center Support Team

Hey there Jim I know exactly how you feel. I felt like that and still do sometimes. Try really hard to get your mind off of it-believe me I know it is hard and seems impossible. The more you think you about it the worse it becomes. I feel like I am losing my memory too. I think it is because my nerves are on overload and I am thinking about this way too much. Take naps and walks and listen to your music. It is very important to try to continue to do the things you love to do. Also give your body rest and time to recover. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Dear Man about town, When I read your post it so reminded me of myself when I had my first panic attack about 5 years ago. What you are feeling is normal, a panic attack can send you in a sort of a "shell-shock" temporarly, it is a scary thing, please remember you cannnot die from an attack, even through you feel like you will! I find if I drink very very little caffeine and eat whenever I am hungry that really cuts back on that shaky panicky feeling, also when you mentioned sleeping, sleep and rest are very good for the body, sleep helps the body recover and recoop! Its very normal to feel foggy and out of it after a panic attack. Panic is very treatable, breathing, therapy, medication. I hope you feel better, I am praying for you, you are very young and I know youth helps. Please let us know how you are feeling and doing. Good luck and GOd bless, Debbie.

Hi, Its really hard for me to type, because im in a very bad state both physically and mentally, so im sorry if it doesnt make sense. I am a musician, and i recently had an extremely bad panic attack. Since then, I have felt like a ghost. I feel like if I go for a walk, I'd walk in front of a car, without thinking of the consiquences. its like im not alive. I have a few things im particularly worried about, and id appreciate it if someone could tell me if its normal, and if it will pass. (and how long it will take) 1. I don't feel alive. I feel like a ghost. 2. I feel much less intelligent - like a big part of my brain has died, and i cant think clearly at all. 3.I feel like im losing my memory. 4. I usually have this urge to play music, but that urge is gone now. I've had to put my career on hold because i just cant play gigs. It feels like im losing my skills, and i cant remember my songs. To sum up, im mentally emotionally and physically a wreck. Maybe I should just sleep, and wait for it to pass, but im soooo terrified that it wont. I just want everything to go back to normal. Jim, 18 yrs old
