One thing I have noticed is that the more I worry about not getting to sleep, the longer it takes me to get to sleep - if I manage to get to sleep at all.
I try to trick myself when I'm lying there trying to get to sleep. I tell myself things like, it doesn't matter how much sleep you get tonight because you can sleep in tomorrow (even though I know I have to get up to go to work in the morning). I know it sounds stupid, but it helps.
Remember that even though we may only get a few hours of sleep at night, we're not going to die because of it. Honestly, what's the worst that could happen? We'll just be extra tired the next day not feeling as fabulous as we would if we had gotten a good night's sleep. As many times as we've done that, it should be a piece of cake right? ;p I know it's ridiculously stupid to say so, but try not to worry about it. The more pressure you put on yourself, the harder it is to get to sleep.
Hi Lauren,
How are you doing? Are you sleeping better and how is the Zoloft? I am unable to sleep at night as well, although I have been on Zoloft for about 9-10 months:-( Take care of yourself.

I wish we could do that, "don't worry about it."
You will be fine -- but I know about the whole testing anxiety -- I had put off going for mine as my GP recommended it, but am too anxious.
Hope all is well.

I didn't sleep well yet again. It wasn't so bad that I had to get up but I kept tossing and turning. Then when it was time to get up, I was soooo tired. But I don't want to sleep all day and then be up all night. I have also been worrying about what the heck is wrong with me and what they are going to do to me at the doctors. Lots of bloodwork I think. I am worrying about invasive testing. My dad told me the other night, "Just don't think about it at all. Don't worry." Haha, funny.
I am glad you are feeling better Lauren:-)
The Zoloft does make you insomniac, but it wears off. My problem is that I am still on the Zoloft and still cannot sleep at night. I am also taking Klonopin, but that's helping. I guess I need try to keep my anxiety in 'check.'
Take care,
B
I am so happy, I finally got a good night of sleep!!!! I feel alot better today. I know that the zoloft is causing the insomnia but it usually goes away after a while. I just have to wait it out.
Dear Lauren, I have prayed you get a good nights sleep. You have been through a lot and your higher anxiety is understandable. I bought one of those "white noise machines" it plays waterfalls, rainstorms, etc... that has really helped me, also the Zoloft is activating I know, Would your DOctor consider Paxil till you concieve again? Paxil always made me so sleepy tired and relaxed even at a low dose, but I know the Zoloft has worked well for you and you probably want to stay on it. I am praying for you to have a sweet slumber! God bless you, Debbie.
I have been extra anxious the past few days. I can function fine during the day when I am out. No problem hanging out with friends or going out to run errands. But when the night comes, I get so anxious. I am worried that I will not get a good night of sleep and I need it sooo badly. I am so worn out and tired.
