Your top 3 - Good Deeds

13 years ago 0 1140 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
1) I let a friend stay at my house for a couple of weeks when he got evicted for having no rent money. He ended up staying and paying me rent for the next year and half. He was a fun roommate, and I got a nice wad of cash for a down payment on the place where I live now. I'd say that one was a win-win.

2) I like volunteering at the food bank. I prefer doing the part where you just fill the boxes or organize things, so I generally don't see the recipients. Still, it makes me feel good to get a little activity on a weekend afternoon and know that someone will get to eat because of it. I can usually feel a little endorphin buzz afterwards.

3) This last one was a simply one. I complimented a friend on her parenting. It wasn't orginally meant as a "good deed." It was just a genuine and spontaneous reaction to what I see in her. She said that it had made her day, and that gave me a warm fuzzy in return.

Members,

There are so many benefits to being generous and doing good deeds. What are the top 3 kind gestures (big or small) that you have done for someone? How did you feel after performing these acts? How did the other person react to your gesture?
